Is there a way to get rid of this glowing effect of your character being “corrupted” , besides having more corruption resistance than you do corruption?
I know for a fact lastnight and ever since 8.3 dropped this glowing effect has not been there on my ingame model, but suddenly now today I login and having 50 corruption to my 37 resistance triggering the (1) corruption effect is the only active and now causing the glow effect on my character at all times without fail…but when I had both it and the (20) eye-stalks effect…nothing.
Anyone know whats up? Was something changed recently that this is now a set-in-stone ingame model effect we cannot hide or remove, besides by out resisting our corruption on gear in number?
It’s an effect of having the corruption. To remove it you either have to have more resistance than corruption, or cleanse your items until you have more resistance than corruption.
I know this, what I am saying is that I had even more corruption active yesterday and there was no effect. …Namely I had 50 corruption, with 20 resistance on my cloak, 2 corruption effects active, but no blue glow
I got to 27 resistance lastnight, deactivating one of the corruption effects, the eye stalks…nothing, no blue glow on me with only the tendrils active lastnight, even after multiple logouts.
I login now today with this having only 1 of the 2 corruption amount effects active and I now have the constant blue glow and my character is flickering like he is on a badly received TV channel, and his image is skipping.
I just don’t get why it’s a thing now, the next day after all of what I just posted a moment ago. …It wasn’t in effect lastnight, not after multiple logouts or anything, it just suddenly is now today.
It effects my characters differently it would seem. On my characters with the same resistance it appears on my KT at only 5 corruption over resistance, its all over his face. As its only on my LFD face at 15. Meanwhile, my VE can be 30 and its just on their lower half (please don’t cover their faces now I said that.) its weird.
Ah, ok, I think I understand your question now. I haven’t confirmed, but I believe the corruption visual effects apply in ranges. So from 1 active non-resisted Corruption to 20 for example would be the blue glow. From 21 to whatever the next tier is would be a different effect, etc.
That shade of blue is hard on the eyes. I don’t like it at all. I actually put my blue blocker sunglasses on the other night when playing to cancel that color out.
Thats what I am started to believe is the case…and dear Light above do I wish I could someway hide this thing…cause I have a 50 corrupt weapon, and sit only at rank 8 for the cloak, which is this week’s cap…and it has only 27 resistance active…
So just knowing this cap is a thing going forward, intended for the cape rank, and that by gearing up with a better weapon or anything else going forward is only going to make REMOVING this character model flicker, and blue glow…a further and further away possibility… …is not a happy thought.
I did NOT build my transmog to have it RUINED by this only worsening and worsening blue gunk on me or any of my alts.
I definitely agree. I’m not a huge fan of the blue corruption glow.
The only other thing you could do is spend the mementos to get the corruption cleansed off of the weapon, but it depends on whether or not you want to keep whatever beneficial effect the corruption on the item gives. If not, then yeah, cleanse that thing and get rid of the glow.
