Let me hide them?

Just straight up let us hide weapons in general. Windwalker monks can do it, and the game has not yet descended into chaos.
Other ideas:
I wish caster could use their weapon when they cast.
Thats one thing i love in ff14
Like you use you book or staff to cast your spells. Its not just sitting there on your back.
almost every newer mmo out there (if not all) have better models, better animation and blizz can’t even do a simple thing like making casters… use their staff? wth
My elemental weapons are perma mogged into the artifact since they are held while casting. I wouldn’t mind another round of updates for combat visuals.
I’m just annoyed that I can’t use the shield I want and I’m forced to use those silly little fidget spinner ones that came with my awesome fist weapon.
I won’t level one of my Shamans because I love her artifact fist weapon and the nifty huge shield I picked up.
looks great in ffxiv, but with one “but” - every job uses only one type of weapon, while in wow we’re not so limited (which doesn’t matter because only melees and hunters actually use their weapons anyway, and some artifacts)
I actually miss the attack pose on my casters where they draw their weapons like they’re gonna smack em. Now all i get are wavy hands and that’s disappointing.
No because old fantasy casters all use staves as walking sticks, can’t change history bub.
Do this for protection warriors and paladins too. I want to just smack people with the old ham sandwiches!
Casters should use their weapons as a spell focus to channel through. In other words, make them cast by waving their staff around and have the magic come from the weapon.
I would love to use my actual staff for my spell casts
I’m not even using it to do that right now!
This would be nice, since that way my offhand book wouldn’t clip into this characters thigh.
I’m currently using this book because its smaller but it still cuts into her leg a little. If I use the book I want to use it almost cuts her leg about halfway through.
Blizzard is big on class fantasy so I don’t think they’ll budge on certain options.
… what? ![]()
None of these options would go against class fantasy. In fact, some of them enhance it.
The RAF backpack hides back sheathed items to prevent the horrific clipping so that’s a pseudo “hide staff” option. I don’t know if the Black Dragonscale Backpack from Wrathion does the same, it doesn’t in previews but hopefully it will when actually transmoged. And Blizz is on record saying that they’d like more non-cape back slots in the future (which will hopefully have anti-clipping weapon hiding). Not really ideal, I’d like to have it as an actual option but it’s what is there at the moment.
vulpera heritage cloak/backpack hides weapons as well ![]()
How about instead or alongside, let us use them in the casting animation?
