The only time gdkp loot is truly p2w (in pvp) is maybe a glaive rogue or a warr/ret with kj sword, or possibly a mage with skull (if he has no sham in team) nothing else is much more powerful than PVP reward items.
Other than that it just helps them score higher on pve “parses”. bizarre really but some people would rather spend money on loot to do more dps on ai bosses
i agree this is kind of a bad time to start. i would just make a char to get ready for lich. play anything that u think looks cool, all specs are good in lich
I played final fantasy 14 A little bit um gdkps Basically think about it like this the load system in World of Warcraft is a lot more RNG.
So imagine instead of you getting a crate for a weapon for a specific class it’s a specific item wellike item well say it’s your best in slot item Adam and you and 3 other people want it.
It becomes a bidding war essentially like say I’m in there and I bid a 1000 gold for it And another person say well I want that more so I’m going to bid you up by bidding 10000.
And yes I can get up to ridiculous numbers depending on the item there’s been If things have gone for up to a million gold.
The result is after everything is said and done everybody gets a piece of the amount of gold spent.
Depends on how much money was spent or gold was disturbed But generally how it works minimally if you’re walking in there and someone spend someone spends 20:00 gold everybody’s walking out of there with at least about 5:00 it does depend on the run but that’s the general idea.
The reason why ever once calling it pay to win is because well The short version is there’s a lot of bots gold is too important to the game to the point where people are going on 3rd party sites and buying it which yes is technically against the OS but blizzard doesn’t do enough enforcement to control it.
And there’s no real ketchup systems it doesn’t really work like final fantasy where crafters can crafters can craft catch up gear.
There’s generally 1 or 2 items very early game that are extremely powerful and after that crafting just kind of at least when it comes to making gear account of becomes useless.
That’s the reason why people say it’s pay to win which to be fair they’re not wrong
most of the raids in classic now are people bidding for items with gold and because most classic players rmt people consider it p2w. blizz doesnt really do much to ban botters and gold buyers so it’s not really worth playing. also raids in classic will be like a ff14 realm reborn dungeon as far as difficulty so i would say find something else.
The game is absolutely a pay to play ( monthly sub, unlike 90% of sub games you can actually buy game time with gold earned ingame, play to pay) pay to win on the other hand is a strawman argument against rmt. There is every opportunity to get endgame level content and rewards by just playing, wow classic is a gearcentric mmo and much is gated behind ingame mechanics that cannot be circumvented. While there are those that will exploit the mmo and the inherent trading methods, wow is no different than any other game with a tradeable currency,
