Hi can you explain alchemy and food buffs to me?

is it one flask
one elixir
one food buff and thats it or is there something more?

never got serious about buffs but id like to move into mythic dungeon runs so id like to be prepared

thanks

Basically. Some you have to read the tooltip to see if it ‘acts as a X elixir’ so it doesn’t write over something else you used other wise that’s pretty it OP.

Basically you can have 4 long-duration buffs to use from consumables, I could be missing some.

  1. Alchemy flask - effect persists through death
  2. Alchemy weapon oils OR Blacksmithing sharpening stones - effect persists through death
  3. Augment rune - lose it with death
  4. Food buff - lose it with death

You can then use combat potions to supplement damage during small windows, usually when your big cooldowns are being used.

In SL combat potions’ effects are amplified if you’re using a weapon oil.

So food is its own thing. You are only allowed one food buff.

Alchemy is broken into 2 buffs and one potion. Potions that have a 5 minute CD only start their cd once you are out of combat. The buffs can be split into 2 areas, that being defense and offense. Sliders only use one of these slots and says which it takes. Flasks use both buff slots but are generally more powerful.

Oils for casters all the time I believe but melee (maybe just duel wielding specs?) can use stones in place of oils since its generally better in aoe fights or m+ but oil is better for ST

1 Flask, 1 food buff, 1 oil on your weapon, and 1 augment rune. There are vantus runes too, or at least there were which are separate. Haven’t leveled my scribe yet.

You’re right I’ll edit post ty!
