I used to do these exclusively because the rest were tedious. I haven’t seen any kill a single npc world quests…
Why?
I used to do these exclusively because the rest were tedious. I haven’t seen any kill a single npc world quests…
Why?
Because Blizzard decided to make world quests more time consuming in Shadowlands.
The only single kill world quests you’ll see are most likely world bosses.
You’re already in the afterlife. What’ll you do, make them more dead?
They intentionally included far fewer world quests, but most of them take more time now. The “Kill 1 mob” quests got axed with that agenda.
I think they made world quests a big pain in the butt this time around. Not only are they having to kill a lot different mobs, some of them have more than one step.
You say tedious, devs call it “engaging”.
Jokes aside though they likely did away with these because they want things to be time consuming to make it seem like you have a lot to do
Nothing is EVER dead enough in World of Warcraft. Even death isn’t death (Spirit Healer); And death beyond death STILL isn’t death (Shadowlands); Some people even have a death beyond that, or equivalent to it! (Twisted Nether, etc)
I’ve tried to decide which non-Maw WQ is the most annoying.
I think the “throw the Dredger at the evil trees and wait while they slowly smack it with a hammer” takes that title for me.
They’ve been replaced with “fill the bar” worldquests.
“Tedium is entertainment.” (tm by Blizzard)
This why I took all my alts to do the Nazjitar dailies today and collect my 2k gold per emissary, Much more satisfyingly for equal annoyance.
*for the stock holders.
And players call it “gray junk” while devs call it “robust rewards”.
Even I I have to agree the world quests are not very fun. I’ve been finding myself not doing them. If I ever get serious about reputation I’ll have to
Some of the new world quest are very annoying. Had one with 4-5 different steps, like why am I doing this for 60 points of anima?
It would not surprise me if we see more of the ‘kill one and done’ world quests added in a month or two as people become less enchanted with the expansion.
I usually like world quests as I’m a solo-esque type player. I have found myself not really enjoying the World quests in Shadowlands. You think you’re done with one, you kill A, B, C and D, then it gives you the sequel to your World quest… now kill X, Y and Z… and then part three… kill 123 Boss.
It’s like they took three quests and slogged them together into one world quest.
I hate them now.
I cant stand them either. Only do them for conduits and callings mainly. And I dread it.
I also hate the fact they are often so far apart, with hostile mobs placed approximately every 5 pixels, on terrain that has only one route (mountains, walls, etc. all around), so that you end up spending as much or more time just moving (and fighting!) between some world quests as you would just doing the convoluted world quests.
I think that the only WQ that I can say that I really think that blizz did that I hate…is making pet battles a WQ…some of you guys may enjoy it…I don’t know, but as I don’t engage in pet battles at all, it’s pointless to me. None of my battle pets are even leveled beyond 3? I think because when I tried it way back when it started I just didn’t get any enjoyment out of battling my minipets. I just enjoy having the things as like little trophies. Otherwise, I don’t get much use out of 'em. The other WQ I can live with…I don’t even mind that they give me junk for rewards because I just sell that crap for the gold anyway…and some of the anima is worth it, granted not all. The WQ’s are time killers for me, or something to level my alts with at this point and, as a lot of you have said, nothing really too special.
