Sorry didn’t mean to imply you were.
Nerfed into the ground? From everything I’m reading this is a small nerf and aug will be more than fine.
Devastation players will still be blocked from high keys and berated for not playing Aug
Everyone will still think you need an Aug for a freaking +16 so badly that you can’t accept a Devastation player over-geared for the content
Until they remove or rework Aug’s ability to affect healing and tank survivability, they will be overly desired in m+ content and screw over dev players the higher keys get.
I’m sorry, I don’t want to appear that I’m reveling in your frustration or something just because I myself am frustrated, but you guys can at least play the game right now, dev players are getting yelled at for not being aug and denied from groups they’re overgeared for, just because they’re not aug. It feels like the devs hate devastation so aug and pres will remain the golden children of the class. This nerf is light, way lighter than our mastery nerf from what I can tell.
Making the tank and group more tanky in general is what I enjoy about auvoker. Take that away and it has literally no use in keys other than having DPS number move from your bar to that of others.
If they change Ebon Might in dungeons to only 2 instead of 4 then the buff has to be much bigger or they are just flat out worse in dungeons than raid. And then the problem of certain DPS benefiting more from Aug than others just gets magnified even more than it already is.
Right now Aug fills in gaps in dungeons, makes healing less harsh, etc. I’ve played both Aug and been a non-meta DPS/heals with an Aug in the group. M+ is just more fun and less stressful with an Aug in the group (especially if you are the healer). IMO they should embrace what Aug does by giving more classes a spec with similar capabilities, not nerf it into just another DPS. I do think there is still room for a DPS nerf though. Aug should not be near the top (when looking in wclogs with the hooks) with all the utility it brings. It should not get a full hybrid tax either though.
M+ just feels much better when you don’t get 1 shot all the time because of scaling. I’m fine with 1 shot mechanics doing this, but not with infinitely scaling damage that wasn’t meant to be a 1 shot mechanic.
The nerfs given so far are very small though…
Yeah that’s how it starts though. A couple little tweaks here and there and then they’re going to do something to over adjust it and all those little nerfs are going to add up to over-nerfing the spec.
I promise if they nerf ebon might at all the spec will be left in the garbage bin.
It’s not a required role, it is a huge gamble in pugs as it makes any party member death usually a wipe.
Everything they seem to be doing is based off MDI, and Rextroy like tricks which are fun but 99.9999% of players aren’t that geared and or aren’t playing the game to break it.
Should have nerfed the others in the god comp and left Aug alone for at least a bit. It’s still gonna be spriest, fmage, guardian. Healer might be a toss up. Nerfing Aug makes the other classes less impactful than they already were.
I mean if you’ve played this game for a decent stretch, oftentimes it’s not how it starts. It starts with them absolutely gutting something that’s strong and leaving it there for way too long.
They’re being ultra conservative with the nerfs and trying to avoid that, and even through the nerfs Aug is ultra strong.
This is dramatic as hell. There are many ways they could subtly adjust ebon might without leaving the spec in the garbage bin, lol.
They barely touched Aug as compared to fire or shadow, and leaving it alone would have just created a new exodia comp–not that we’ve necessarily avoided that possibility. Aug was and is too strong still, I’m really not sure what all this doom posting is about.
If this weren’t a new spec that they wanted to drive adoption around, they wouldn’t be nearly this careful with it, and it still has a long way to go before it’s approaching undertuned. No matter how strong they make it, it’ll still be a poor choice if your DPS aren’t good and dev would be the go-to. That’s the nature of any buff spec.
The only way to adjust that would be to give more personal dps, which there’s already another thread about full of doomers on that side of the fence.
