Look fellow brother, change is not instant. It is gradual. One step at a time.
I wonder how long it will take you to find out no developers come here either.
In the last five years we might have had one developer post in this section.
These forums are for discussion amongst ourselves - not a general complaint board.
This is true, but I still believe they are given summaries. Why do you think they let people without accounts post here?
One big difference between PvE and PvE wrt to gearing is in PvE gearing is the end, but in PvP it’s the beginning.
If you watch all the hotfixes that go out. They do tune azerite traits, trinkets, and essences in almost every one.
So it does seem like they are on top of it.
Although all of those things in general make PvP pretty nutty compared to days prior
If you wanna try to whether the storm, bring a kite with a key tied to the string and stand high and tall on a hill.
One step at a time, one post after the other. The blues will come.
As far as I know people without accounts can’t post here. And they are given summaries but what makes you think the people doing this restrict themselves to general.
Or you will get a forum vacation for spam.
I think they want the attention of other posters rather than the blues to both raise awareness and interest. People like me who used to PvP but do not now so they wouldn’t go to the arena forums. They did something similar in WoD, even offered to have experienced arena people carry new players in attempt to raise interest.
EDIT: I meant active accounts.
Well, at it seems at least all of us are playing the same game
I am pretty sure this account is no longer active and so far I can still post.
And they really didn’t post any concerns to even discuss - just a lot of nonsense.
Same here.
While I may not personally PvP, I hope that they don’t just abandon it. Because for many, its what they enjoy. To see what you enjoy end up being abandoned, for any reason, is not a pleasant experience.
I would hope that they listen and try and improve PvP. The problem of course is the balancing act of improving PvP without penalizing PvE. And vise versa. It’s something they’ve struggled with since the beginning, and they’re still no closer to the answer on how to satisfy both groups.
I believe it is possible, but it would require a different way of thinking, one they don’t currently practice.
I think the issue that PvP is facing is that as subs dropped they had to focus the scope of the game and decided to focus on PvE. This in turn led to less subs and more focus.
A lot of concerns and confusion came from this. Look at all the pathfinder threads and the people confused by them.
Credit to Kenny where credit is due.
True, dwindling subs are an isuse. So they had to focus on the largest group. Financial decisions.
Still stings.
I’d know the experience of seeing things you care for withering away over time. It always hurts. And it hurts even more when you realize that these things could have been preserved.
As to how to fix things, how to restore the fun factor for PvP? To go back to its glory days. I don’t have the answers for that.
Besides a different way of thinking, I’m not sure if there is an answer. Sometimes there isn’t really anything that can be done except gracefully retiring things before all you have left is nothing BUT bad memories.
No, I’m not advocating the removal of PvP either.
When they try to balance it, I at least respect them in their efforts. Lately in the interviews with Ion, he has shown nothing but disrespect towards the pvp community. There are bugs that last for months. Some spells are just memes now.
Simple fixes here and there would at least save subs and would not effect pve players.
- For example, melee dps are using caster intellect trinkets like “harbinger’s inscrutable will” (from Crucible raid) and it ends up being their top dps. A simple fix, like making it unusable for melee would be a huge accomplishment.
I think they need to go back to the old trinket system for PvP, where you have the 2 and a PvP specific bonus from equipping both.
No argument. When a man works to try and fix things, you can respect them more than if they simple go “who cares?”
I’m an old school pencil and paper gamer. Pencil, paper, dice, the works. And I’ve seen games wither away. Games that could have been great. But because the GM never attempted to make any changes, all that the players were left with was bad memories.
If I have a choice between a slew of bad memories and “It could have been so much greater but ended early” I’ll take the “it could have been so much more”.
Because then at least you have the good memories.
You know, that could work. Or maybe extend it to a return of “tier” gear but specific to PvP.
IE when engaging in pve, its just normal gear, but in PvP, if you have 2 pieces of the set, you get X bonus.
You get the picture. 2 piece, 3 piece, 5 piece, 8 piece.
That could drive people to try and collect full pvp gear. For the bonuses.
Balancing it, another story. It was just an off the top of my head idea.
Facts. We feel as peasants waiting for our crumb of bread after working a long week. A short and simple post from a blue can go a long way.
