Hey Hunter Dev

You’re doing a great job my guy, good prompt feedback, good iterations. Hunter’s, you’re in good hands.

I’m not sure if you share an office or work from home, but can you send a message to the Paladin Dev and tell him to give us an ounce of feedback?

Thanks!

To be honest, with the lack of Actual decent changes I’d rather not see changes at all… Have you missed how this great developer completely removed the single only useful utility hunters bring to M+/raid (outside of lust who like half the classes have now…)? Our binding shot was the sole reason to bring a hunter to group content, especially with how extremely heavy the m+ meta have been on big pulls since it’s inception.

The changes have died down even though SV is still a complete mess and the class tree almost as bad, the communication is there sure, but it’s not good communication and instead of giving the class with the absolute least utility in the game some decent utility they… give it to other classes already overflowing with utility (latest was brez to paladins and lust to evokers… like really?)… So yes, I’d rather not take any changes at all if the changes just make the class worse.

The single only saving grace would be if they announce some Seriously good changes both to the SV/class trees who still make me want to change class (after 17 years… still holding on hope, haven’t bought the game yet tho so…) and some amazing news on at least 2-3 good to awesome utility additions. Without that, the class will be dead in any relevant content in DF.

Edit: Oh, and this same developer you raise to the skies have the audacity to think the change is warranted and pretty much just tells off the whole hunter community and tell us to “go use High explosive trap or freezing trap instead”… as if a placed large AoE 8 second root that does not break on damage is even remotely comparable with a single target freeze that has to be landed perfectly with a long fly time or another trap that is so niche that it’s solely useful at that rare occasion when you want to knock a PvP target off that one bridge in EotS or move a casting mob off of sanguine. It’s so rare and niche the suggestion they are comparable with binding shot is an insult.

he’s not really trolling
the paladin trees are a godawful mess
@op
ask the shaman dev to do your trees, tbh
they’re easily one of, if not the best designed trees atm

For the most part, comparatively speaking.

This one is less the case.

I’m not sure you’d be an authority on that.

Having an even worse tree isn’t, itself, going to make slightly less awful trees outright good.

Paladin trees are far better then the garbage hunter trees.

yeah, not really
they’re both bad lmao

Bottom couple of classes---->

Paladin
Mage
Hunter <— rated the worst

could you show me the empirical proof that hunters have the worst tree other than just saying so?

Can you provide empirical evidence suggesting paladins are the worst?

Lol, come on, dont be stupid. We are still in beta.

After extensive messing around with trees n such, some of the top ones:

Lock
Dh
Sham
Rogue

Middle

Druid
War
Monk
Priest
Dk

Bottom

Pala
Mage
Hunter

Dont know yet

Evoker.

excuse me sir
i said they’re both bad
but i definitely find hunter’s to be better, if i were to compare the two in a vacuum
major sore points for me are shackles (existing), alpha predator being a capstone talent, sentinel is overall effectively useless (even in pvp due to the ramping requirement) and SS being so low in the general tree
paladin’s however is just a shambling wreck with no real cohesion, plus they’re forcing pony into the tree at an extremely high opportunity cost, despite overwhelming negative feedback since legion
and i can’t understate how poorly that rates for me
so yeah
of course im gonna say hunters have a better tree because i vehemently despise pony, to a degree that it entirely kills the class for me

Why hunters are bad?

Generic tree

Nta, steel trap, no real pet capstone, chakrums, SS capstone instead of base. This is just the beginning.

But one thing overrides anything bad paladin has against it:

Surv tree. By far the worst spec tree in the game without a doubt.

I’m also hating the weird amount of pet related talents you end up needing to take as Marksman as you really have no other choice in nodes.

Really hoping that having a pet out isn’t the play for Marksman. :face_vomiting:

There’s also the weird talent layout of so many abilities, where multi-shot and trick shot are somehow not even close to each other, and it’s impossible to currently have both of those and trueshot, our major cooldown.

That’s not even touching on the lack of survivability in the tree. Losing our Shadowlands conduits and soulbinds is going to hit hunters hard. We already faceplant the millisecond a boss glances in our direction.

not sure why you speak as if you’re spitting facts, that’s all subjective

Its true. IDK why you think its not. Pretty self explanatory.

You know dang well surv is by far the worst tree out of all of em.

we’ll agree that we disagree then, we’re clearly not gonna change each other’s minds at all

I mean, where do you even see anything positive? lol

Mate, you’re the one who opened with this claim that there is an objectively worst spec, all without being willing to evidence it through any warrant that doesn’t apply equally to multiple other specs.

Noting that your claim as to a single objectively worst spec probably holds no water if you can’t even refute what would be, by your own warrants, equal claimants (those other specs) does not suddenly shift the burden of proof to them.

*Hunter, Mage, and Paladin all have pretty bad class trees. Why would you need to fight for a title of having it worst? — There’s nowhere here or anywhere in the development pipeline to meaningfully cash pity points.

  • And I’m not sure pity will even be the end result when your go-to strategy is just to treat your opinion as fact and all others’ as folly, regardless.
