The amount of well-constructed feedback drowned out by people posting shower thoughts/doomposting/memes in ALL beta feedback threads (not just the Shaman thread; Blizzard please a crumb of blue post) really makes me think that Beta access should be a bit more exclusive. Not to say don’t share your thoughts but consider when you’re posting something if it really should go into the feedback threads or if it’s better suited for the class threads or other places.
Incoming all the “ALL FEEDBACK IS VALID FEEDBACK” responses so I’ll just say Valid =/= Meaningful and leave it at that.

Random train of thought posts should be banned, too.

The last time they did this was MoP beta and the yearly sub contract
They even said it themselves that it was a mistake iirc. So why did they do it again ?

I don’t know what this thread is about. I clicked into it just for OP’s name.

The usual tomfoolery GD gets up to.

I admit I only cursory skim most threads and just leave responses to make post count go brrrrrrr.

What would General Discussion be then?

I think a lot of this has nothing to do with beta access but more people realizing that some feedback threads just aren’t looked at (ie: Shaman). That feedback thread has 1000s of replies and there hasn’t been a single alpha/beta change for Shaman.
Why would anyone post in a feedback thread if there’s no acknowledgment of it being read by blizzard?

Because most of the feedback isn’t meaningful.

What they need is a proper Test Team who can execute properly designed test cards and provide feedback in a structured, constructive way. But they’re not gonna pay for that, so they’ve figured out a clever way to get a crowd of randos to pay to beta test.
They’ll get feedback. It’s anyone’s guess how much good it will do.

There’s no way that they don’t have meaningful feedback from that thread. I can go there and find 5-10 very meaningful comments from class/guide writers detailing the problems with Shaman. Someone at Blizzard gets paid to work 40/hr per week to go through that feedback and make changes.
There’s zero chance cluttered feedback is the reason for 0 changes in 2 months lol

And about 600 posts burying them. I imagine the dev still read it since the best way to understand something is to read it yourself and probably drive their thumbs into their eyes everytime they see “shaman tank spec” or “2 hand enhance”.
This has to be one of the worst “bad ideas” that they have come up with. It didn’t work out well back during Pandaria beta, so I can’t for the life of me figure out why they would do it again, other than the obvious fact that was mentioned in other posts…greed.

If only we had more useful posts like this one for Blizzard to read. I bet they’re definitely going to change their mind based on this post. It’s clearly an incentive that is driven by $$.
If you hate the forum noise then stop adding to it. This post accomplishes nothing besides complaining about something Blizzard will never change and burying posts that might actually give valuable feedback.

Honestly, though–what’s wrong with the idea of a shaman tank? They can use shields already. And I don’t get why a two handed enhancement shaman wouldn’t work. And no…I’m not just saying this to get your goat. I’m curious why you feel it’s not a good idea. If there’s a thread that explains it, please point me there. I’d love to read those thoughts.
And sorry for hijacking the thread for this. My curiosity got the better of me.

A whole spec added to the game. Think on that hard when considering how well they balance specs and how the class trees interact between different specs within the same class. The druid class trees is another example with it’s pathing being extremely frustrating because of the fact there are 4 specs crammed into it.
There are a lot of discussions in the Shaman forums. But basically it has to do with auto attack interaction with Enhance, loot acquisition, and consideration how having 2 different weapon types has faired for other specs; that last one specifically links to what happened to frost dk over these last 3-4 years due to them adding 2 hand to them.
Just the beta thread. It’s fine to make noise on the forums. Thats pretty much what their for. A beta thread for specific feedback…not so much. Posting shower thoughts in general discussion does not mean the samething as posting shower thoughts in the feedback thread.
I guarantee more people bought the deluxe edition for early access than beta access.

I’m sure the goal of this is to try and get as many people to try out the beta to see how far they came in comparison to their ownership under boobymcgreedynuts
