Hey Blizz why aren't you banning the RMT?

Getting really annoyed at the amount of RMT boosting that is blowing up the trade chat since you got rid of the gold boosting communities which should of been ok within TOS.
Got some lovely screenshots here where they aren’t even speaking proper English and openly say they are boosting for real money. I normally see it and get suspicious and ask how tricky that old content is these days and BOOM I get an auto response proving exactly what I thought they were up to.

I have screenshots too but there isn’t even a section to attach proof in game??

Also can’t include links in the post so this is super frustrating. :+1:

its hard they hit 10 and 20 pops back up
if they want to fix it
you need a sub to post in trade chat or anywhere

I think free accounts aren’t allowed to post in TC?

If they are, this is an ABSOLUTELY MAJOR OVERSIGHT BLIZZARD.

what about the city chat?

Solution: leave trade. See little to no boost spam. Secondary bonus: you dont have to hear about politics

the gold buying and boosting industry in the game will never be killed. why? cause blizzard profits off it through their subs and tokens

You must spend a lot of time with your eyes closed if that’s your answer to a problem.

RMT continues to be against the terms of service, and is bannable.

They’re burner accounts. A sub is purchased, they spam, get banned, but make enough from the buyers to fund another account and so on.

it is but one goes 5 shows up it’s a losing battle

The demand is overwhelming.

People would rather pay somebody to play the game for them than actually play it themselves.

Its more like, after being of years alive on this earth on this interwebz i’ve realized that advertisements for not so savory things are gonna exist and unfortunately the more public the space, the more common it is. its kinda like trying to change a peach tree seed into an apple or an orange. it’ll always be a peach no matter what i say or do.

I get what you’re saying. Fixing a problem should always be the answer. Turning off chat so you don’t see what you want fixed isn’t a good solution, it’s just the best of the bad choices were are given. We still have to put the pressure on Blizzard to correctly fix the issue.

Yeah just like in premade group finder all the restritions they set up for such things didn’t actually get rid of the problem - the only thing that would’ve fixed it would’ve been proper moderation. But they don’t want to do to that, so it stays in game and only the ones that get reported ‘enough’ get acted on and go through the whole short duration into long which can take a while to get an account gone.

It’s why when the ‘rule’ changed for boosting communities in trade so many people were getting hit - more people happy to actively report. Eventually people get less enthusiastic about spending their time reporting so many ads as Blizzard doesn’t do enough on their own.

you uh…seem to know a ton about how this process works…something we should all know keeennie?

You guys know the solution is obvious.

We all need ankle bracelets, and to hand blizzard over our bank account info, as well as copies of ALL forms of identification. This must be verified before we log in every time, and corroborate with ankle bracelet info.

I mean none of this will solve the botting/spam issues, those guys will figure out a workaround in about 13 seconds… but its for our safety everybody. Think of our safety.

Reality is blizzard could have flags that they could put a single person on that autohides ANY message with certain key phrases. Not even ban/mute/etc… just auto hides the message instantly as soon as it hits servers.

But they dont, because they dont care.

Good news, everyone! They already can’t do that.

Lets not forget about the players that enjoy buying carries to the point where it makes it worth it for RMT sellers to go through the trouble to maintain accounts.

Both Blizzard and Players are to blame for the RMT market

And even if Blizz was successful in stopping in game spam, RMT sales would continue on external websites/discord. Since they make enough to buy ad space on social media, I would say the RMT industry is doing pretty well

I know you were being facetious but a digital ID platform is coming and it will require some sort of biometric sensor on your body.

Real answer they ban in waves.

You can ban the individual or you could monitor him and see who he gives the money to and find where the chain begins and ends

That will never stop the issue it will only Inflict the largest inconvenience
