Hey all how many classes do you play?

How many classes do you all play? I jus re-rolled a death knight and loving it so far trying to gear it up, also have a warlock at lvl 120 gearing him up through pvp. I want to make a demon hunter but do you guys think tackling three characters who are well geared is too much? Wanted to know your thoughts and experiences! I want to enjoy the game but not go too crazy with alts.

Addendum: is BfA or Wow in general even alt friendly?

used to play 6-10 characters largely in pvp but a mix of other stuff

nowadays Ion’s design has completely killed my desire to do more than 1 guy per expac

Three is not too many. I have a DH at just over 400, a Druid at 380ish and currently levelling a Shaman. Enjoying them all which is what counts. Play what you want to do Long as you are having fun

I only play my main until I have flying and then I level my alts once they can fly in current content. Hated Naz so much, I decided to take a week off before starting to level the alts. Even the benthic gear isn’t a sufficient carrot for me to go back there.

I hear that.

From Wrath world through Pandaland I too enjoyed to pleasures of alt leveling. There was actually a desire to have someting differnt off on the side and the trade skills to go with it. I was HC raiding and religiously playing back then so it helped pass the time.

now most of the trade skills are meh… and questing doesnt entertain like it used too. Its just “go save him” and once u save him “i need your help before we exit this cave.” then its “okay, now do these 9 things before we make it 100yrds away from cave.” and finally ends with “now help my 12 friends do the 24 individual things they clearly cant do themselves, then help their cousins do the same.”

all the while Im like “i gotta level, dude… pay me, and let me leave your farm. plz” …ugh

Used to have an alt of every class now I just play BM hunter got bored with others and deleted them.

I play four right now (warlock, monk, priest, rogue), but mainly focus on two. This game has become pretty unfriendly when it comes to alts, so that’s a pretty big drop off from the six or eight I used to play consistently.

Until Azerite is removed or account bound 1

None, class design has been ruined across the board since Legion.
I used to play every class and find all the nuances of each class/spec. Now there is no nuance, there are no unique class mechanics, it’s all the @$@$@$ same. They also added pvp talents (a reason to prune even more from classes and move them to talents), and they designed classes around an artifact system/legendaries (which they removed btw), and we’ve seen the results when the system is terrible.

It’s hilarious that their “stated goal” was to get rid of some of the overlap of classes in MoP because classes have never felt more similar in the entirety of WoW. Was there some CC or utility overlap in MoP?

Sure, I think you could make that argument… So they decided to prune all the unique class mechanics like warrior stancedancing, managing 3 different rune types actively with skills like blood tap + presences on my dk, removing all the utility and niche totems shamans had in favor of “streamlining”, removing curses from warlock, while also removing a lot of complexity from classes they had been building up for the past decade.

Can you tell me how class design is better without having smoke bomb on my rogue, anti magic zone or mass grip on my dk, or alter time on my mage?

So to answer your question… I play zero classes now because they’ve all been gutted to a point where they don’t represent what they used to even in the slightest.

7 so far…

Only class I havent touch is Rogue.

I have at least 1 of every class Most are 120 but a few in the 110-116 range

I just play the one: Rogue

Tried all the other classes and can’t say I enjoyed any of them. I love being able to stealth around so I can’t imagine not being able to do that.

Damn, I wish I had so much time in the day to play everything with work, wife, and home obligations

I play all and every class. I also suck at getting things done and fall behind all the time because progress towards achivments are not account wide.

Rip.

This expac I only have four classes at 120, but I did take an almost 6 month break between January and now.

I do have a passable knowledge of all 36 specs, which I gained from completing all the mage tower challenges. Generally I make sure that I level every class on Alliance over the course of the expac.

Pre 8.2 I had 9 toons of various classes with most around 385-390 ilvl and a few around the 410 ilvl.

Post 8.2 I have this one guy. I can’t fathom grinding out all of their neccessary essences again and again. It’s going to tank my desire to play once the new raid/dungeon wear out their novelty on this guy.
