In the current era of Warcraft, when almost everything is account-wide, why this is not?
Gladiator mounts are usable by all characters now, why this cant be too? It could be cool to be able to port to dungeons faster with alts of you are high enough with your main.
Or if you switched mains from one expansion to another and want to farm cosmetics.

But since account sharing is not allowed we can assume that each character on the given acc is played by the same person and if that given person has aquired the portal on a character then I don’t see how would they using it on their alts diminished their prestige.
Personally when I got my portals I was halfway already progressing my alts instead of that character because I considered it done with it so I did not really get to use my portals.
Oh, I am 100% account wide unlocks
