So I made a new baby Gnome and am trying to take him through some of the Cataclysm zones. The only way to get the entry quests to these zones is via the Hero’s Call Board… which shows you random zones. I speak to Chromie and hit the Cataclysm choice.
But even when you are in Cataclysm Chromie Time, the call board shows you random zones (some of which have nothing do with Cataclysm, like Storm Peaks, Blade’s Edge Mountains, etc.). Trying to get the zone I want, I take 20+ quests hoping Vash or Twilight Highlands will pop… and nope. Nothing. I abandon then and start over - same zones.
Blizzard, could you please put in a button to let us cycle through zones on the board? Pretty please?

mmm have you tried down at the harbor? Usually there might be quest npcs down there… same as the northrend one. Or the keep. Alot of cata starting zone quests are either around there… or actually where the portal FOR vashjir is … there’s a quest giver here. make sure you have “trivial quests” checked to see them

I know lol… but I love that zone. Except on hunters and a few other classes that the 3-D environment borks. Blizzard was never able to fix the LOS issues lol.

Can you ask a mage to port you to the zone you want to level in and then travel around, pick up the quests that way?

Can you run out to the dock or go up to the hyjal portal or both portals for that matter where the cata portals are?
The Hyjal questline starts in the Tauren area of org. There’s a portal there that starts it all for Hyjal.
Just dawned on me you’re alliance lol. Same situations apply though.

Nope, I’ve tried that on other toons.
For Twilight Higlands, you have to take the first quest in Stormwind to open up the first flight path and portal back. You cannot just go there and take it.

The quests to those zones are in storm wind. The one for hyjal is in the castles a garden. I’m not sure if you have to be level 30 or not to go there like the cata dungeons though.

I don’t think so but I’ll try again at 30. It’s odd they would leave out those zones but include ones from other expansions (at least to me).

I’d also like seeing some kind of random whatever show up on the Hero’s Call Board once in a while, just something to half way sorta keep it relevant. As it is, it’s obsolete to all but newer characters.

Nope, did not work. It’s showing the same zones from the Hero’s Call Board lol.
Cataclysm starts with the revamped vanilla zones. They’re it until i think level 30 as the other zones were made with flying in mind.

i think just zoning into the city should push the opening quest into your log

The Hero’s Call board needs a major overhaul. Tabs for each expansion, dropdowns for zones, etc. It’s a terrible mess.
