How would you make a heroic version of the vanilla raids?

How about instead of Heroic raids, we just have tiered content like it was supposed to be? Vanilla and early/mid-TBC (before the welfare epics) was quite nice in that respect.
You had your beginner guilds in T1, then T2/T2.5/early T3 was intermediate. And then the best guilds cleared T3.
TBC you had people clearing T4/some T5. Intermediate guilds were clearing T5 (Vashj/Kael block), and advanced guilds were clearing T6.
None of this Heroic crap.

Sounds pretty heroic
only go in with greens allow no one in the raid who is wearing blue or epics, and no consumes, or world buffs.
You can always go play retail.
You are playing the last patch of vanilla wow, all of the classes had their talents redone and that upped damage and survivability by a huge margin. The gear was redone too, tons of items were re itemized from release until 1.12. A close to heroic release would be the first release of WoW and having that progress for 2 years until 1.12.
Have mages use Fire spec in MC, make Boomkins main tank, have shamans use fire shock exclusively… Plenty of ways to make life harder for yourself.
This, then it’s all player skill!

Try to limit main spec roles.
I.E. have as many “meme” spec dps as you can.
Even then its probably still not very heroic.
So probably Heroic would be doing it with as few people as you could? Like a 15man MC? Wonder how small of a group can do a full clear?
Heroic raids come later as AQ or NAXX.
BWL is a mixture between heroic/normal.
It’s progression between raid difficulties.

I always had the idea of collecting a set of all gray gear. Weapons and gear (no neck, rings, or trinkets), and trying to raid in that with just base stats.

I’d majorly up the armor and spell resistance of things. I’d also make it much much harder to hold threat. I’d change all the dispel this mechanics in MC to. Dispell this or you get one shot.
I’d give every boss some kind of thorns effect.
White gear only!
You want no warrior tanks–maybe no warriors! No buffs? Give paladins a break! Use neither rings nor trinkets. Remove the other DPS lords, e.g., mages and rogues. Lots of ideas, just no standard. Make hunters go melee–yeah I like the 7.0–>Survival spec…
