Heroic Jailer feels impossible with Affix

The bombs going off with faster rate with the affix soak makes this feels impossible.

I second this sentament, the timer for bombs seems off and i dont understand why it would be messing up, we had 3 people jump down at the same time and 2 of them went off flawlessly while one of them who jumped at the same time died a dark death falling through the world

the affix aswell semms rather poorly timed, i get that it is based on dispells but even still with all the mechanics, it seems way to hectic and you have to choose which mechanic you want to do at the SAME time as the affix, kinda wack
Edit: without the affix i do thnk that Jailer fight on heroic is WAY to easy

Makes me think Blizzard intentionally gave him this one because they nerfed him to hell and back towards the end of S3.

My issue is that the buff you get from soaking affects debuffs on you. So the bombs in phase 1 tick down faster etc. You get punished for doing a mechanic correctly.

i second this.
just knocked my face into multiple AOTC pugs tonight that couldn’t/barely could get past P1

I just think that affix is buggy. The fact that it just makes buffs run out faster as well even to negative effect for the player, someone either did not think through how to code it, or these kinds of things are stuff that should be excluded but someone forgot.

Getting behind this. Having the speed-up effect on you seriously messes up your timer. It’s extremely difficult to re-acclimate to how you should do it properly and is too difficult to know the new timings. All of our P1 attempts ended in laughable failure for all the dumbest reasons.

It is possible but that affix seems like such a pain with the bosses it’s on this week compared to the last 2 weeks. Getting the MC in P2 with the buff gives next to no time to react before you run yourself off the edge.

I think this has just shown how big of an issue a dynamic change is when you rely on Weak Auras or addons. If you watch the countdown timer you should be able to time it. But because we have relied on addons this has been somewhat difficult.

I have been trying to modify the WA so that it updates the countdown timer from the actual debuff time rather than the listed spell debuff time. Im not good enough with LUA code to modify that.

nonetheless I think the only fix is to ditch the WA and make it a habbit to watch the debuff timer.

I would counter that the problem is that mechanics like this require such precision timing that they require additional information not provided by the game.

If the mechanic was “step in the hole before it expires” you could easily rely on the debuff to manage your play, but the over-engineering of the mechanic makes the whole thing an unnecessary burden.

It’s overthought to the point that you also have to take into account your position relative to the shape of the opening. Blizzard has long since forgotten that simplicity is elegance. They’ve resorted to leaning on obscure behaviors and difficult to identify visuals to replace well designed puzzles.

Also, it’s clear they don’t test jack all. Legion M+ is so out of whack and requires tuning during the ONE week that it’s available that they had to remove an entire mechanic. I would bet they don’t correct it before the week ends. Even the “current” M+ dungeons are showing that they didn’t test with the affixes and EVERY week will requiring adjustments that mean most weeks will have broken stuff, potentially for the entire week.

This patch is shambolic in it’s quality. A team that has been pumping out content for the same game for 18 years is regressing.

Disappointment would be a step up from how many of us feel about this company.
