Heroic ICC25 takes longer at level 58 ilvl 127 than it did at level 50 ilvl 100

I am hoping someone can explain to me how this works because I am so confused. I just finished my weekly ICC run for Invincible and things are taking noticeable longer than they did before. Trash is surviving my initial Shadow word pain damage and time to kill on bosses is noticeably higher. I’m hoping maybe a blue post can explain how I am getting weaker as my ilvl goes up or if there is some kind of bug.

It’s their broken scaling. Honestly it’s never worked right. As it is now good luck at lvl 60 even with great gear solo’ing Legion mythics, you know, something we could do before.

My only guess is what is happening with the Legion raids.

The reasoning behind this seems to be some hidden scaling aura at work for level 50s, increasing the damage for all spells cast. This aura doesn’t seem to be present for level 60s, making them deal significantly less damage and take significantly more damage from enemies.

This seems to be a common problem every expansion, and it gets easier after a few weeks or months with better gear. I wish it weren’t the case, though.

Ilvl is only half the equation. It’s Ilvl compared to character level. Even though your ilvl went up 27, your character level went up 8 which means you are comparatively weaker.

How does that make sense though? As level goes up, stats go up, which should equate to getting stronger.

Because otherwise we would all have 100% crit. Secondary stat percentage increases require more raw rating as you increase in level to get the same value.

For example, at 50 you may only need 100 crit for 1% crit, but at 60 you may need 250 to offset the fact that we get more rating from higher character level gear. At the beginning of the expansion, early gear doesn’t have that much relative stat ratings. It happens every expansion. Once you get somewhat decent gear at 60 it will be easy to solo legacy stuff again.

This is intended. As Ion stated there will be NO old expac farming and they are going to scale everything to require the same people as when current.

I understand how secondary stats work, my point is that my raw stats and damage should not be dropping as level and item level increase. especially in older content.

I just read through that and it is insane to me that things like this slip through.

scaling should be removed. not just from this, but from all rpgs. it is absolutely counter to the core mechanics of an rpg. absolutely genre breaking.
