Hi, this last week we saw the 691 Delve belt release. Seemingly unrelated, the timewalking cache provides a heroic reward of 649+ loot. But what brought me here today was that I’m trying to gear up a character, and when I completed my timewalking quest, I opened the cache and got… a heroic waist item.
Can you remove them from the loot table since we all have access to a 691 belt, or at least do some sort of check to not provide loot if someone has heroic or better loot in a slot?
It makes me feel like I just wasted my time.
(Edit: This was for my evoker alt, not my main rogue who doesn’t need any of the rewards from timewalking caches)
Can you clarify, in practice, how that would work?
I do the TWing on alts for the transmogs, so to have one transmog slot blocked off would not be good for a lot of people.
While I understand the frustrations, it’s no different than getting a slot you already had the same or better item in.
Rng is gonna rng. At least you have a few more weeks to get more caches.
imagine the rolling of the random objects looks at your currently equipped gear, and if something is above the max ilvl of loot in the table of the cache, it ignores that item. I realize it would probably be difficult to implement, and maybe some wouldn’t want this feature.
so these chests would effectively guarantee that you always have an upgrade?
In this scenario, you could get anything that you have equipped that is a hero item or lower. it would ignore anything at mythic or higher. it wouldn’t prevent you from getting side-grades. But it would encourage people who have a mix of mythic/heroic to do timewalking.
