The census has always been unreliable for server pop counts but it was useful to see trends. But after anti-addon ayatollahs got Blizz to break the census addon, now the data analyst types have to resort to make it up as you go along methods. lol.

Or EU’s Wyrmthalak. I want to meet the 3 Horde players who play on that server. PvP on that server is effectively dead.
Remember that with layering on a massive realm like Herod, the odds that you will see him are slim. Like parking your 60 in the same zone that you’re questing your alt in is almost useless because it probably won’t be in the same layer as your alt and ganker when you login.
True. Looks like I’ll have to keep this piece of paper by my desk for another year or so. Maybe by then, layering won’t be an issue.
They could take the most imbalanced ratio servers, and smash them together in pairs and keep them layered. Instant ratio balancing via combining servers.

Ima stop you right there. The who api call wasn’t restricted to break census. It was restricted to break a layering exploit addon. Census was unfortunate collateral damage.
Yeah, the server where people purposely wanted to stay off of. The server streamers said they would all converge on so people could avoid it. Herod was touted as being the server to PvP on. From the beginning it was full of people pounding their chests declaring how great Herod was going to be, and that it was the server to PvP on.
and it is, best server by far
