Just to clarify you’re asking the “big name” streamers correct? My wife and I stream (not anywhere near a level as the ones who can cause incredible annoyances) and we’re just looking for a home server with an active community. Our streams aren’t focused and never will be on the type of events that cause massive issues like some of the bigger streamers. Ours are focused on the game experience and what our guild does whether it’s raiding or PvP. Also the follower base we have mainly comes to our stream to hangout and chat with us and many of them do not play WoW but just have a good time with us in whatever game we do stream.
Bracing for the hate but just looking to have a discussion with reasonable people on this topic.
Hate to break this to you, but they will go where they please. If you have a problem with that, then their army of braindead zombie followers will get rid of you. They have their own personal armies to swing around. You probably do not. The upside is that by rolling PVP, they’re always open for attack, and many people love stream sniping.
Streamers better level quickly because once the snipers get 60, it’ll be nearly impossible for them to level on PVP after that. They’ll need dedicated bodyguards just to quest.
I don’t necessarily think the people are concerned about small streamers that mind their own business and play the game. It’s the large ones (without naming names, you know who I’m talking about) that have the potential to disrupt the in game experience. Like faction imbalance, economy, etc. People are concerned about that happening on the server of their choice because a streamer with 50,000 followers is also playing there.
@Thread - Please stop taunting streamers. It’s mean at best, counterproductive at worst.
To the ones who are only unwelcome due to their fans it’s mean. To the ones who are so obnoxious they’d be kicked out of virtually any guild before the end of their first guild dungeon run due to their personality, you’re just taunting them into rolling on Herod.
@Busshock - Reporting Twitch Speak makes sense since Twitch Speak is inherently spam, but I don’t get reporting foreign languages.
Can’t you right-click to ignore, or at least get an add-on for that?
Yeah I would agree. I just don’t want to get lumped in with them. When we decided that classic would be a thing we were going to stream we had a major talk about that type of thing and even if we were to get big ways to prevent any followers from that type of behavior. We also strive to NOT attract toxic people and it’s going pretty well so far. Honestly I completely understand avoiding big streamers and do not blame anyone for doing so. However as usual, there’s large amounts of hate going around for anyone who’s a streamer here so in an effort to avoid having the game made unplayable as one of the turds in the punch bowl suggested be done I would rather actually talk to people that are going to be playing here in an effort to at least show not all of us that do stream encourage stupid behavior that ruins games for others and ourselves.
but blizzard and the shills insist that RCR and auto squelch is 100% fine, so might as well use it for it’s obvious and intended purpose: purging anyone deemed undesirable from any and all chat.
I wouldn’t be too concerned about getting hated on for streaming to a small community of people, I’d say the majority of people will leave you alone and let you stream in peace. Like I said, people only care about the ones that have the potential to completely throw a realm off balance.
For sure. Oddly enough I wouldn’t if people tried interacting with the stream. Provides an opportunity to make new friends or enemies to pvp against down the line. Thanks for having a civilized discussion though. It’s greatly appreciated with how people tend to be these days.
Again, I don’t think this is aimed at every single streamer on the face of the planet. It’s the huge ones that will bring a hundred thousand followers with them, is what people are concerned about.
Wow all these snowflakes crying about streamers are gonna ruin their classic experience.
Just play the damn game with your friends and guildmates and don’t get all worked up and talking about witch hunting streamers if they come here, grow up and stop talking like a child.
