So, i played when the servers first opened, sat through the queues like everyone else. Decided to take a break for awhile and came back around 3 days ago. its really disheartening to see that i can no longer find groups for anything, and that the only way ill get a group is if i get boosted through one for gold, makes leveling without friends really hard. Herod feels like it turned into either pay to get to 60, or find somewhere else to play. Any other servers out there like this, and is there a different server where people actually play without boost spam 9/10 times in chat?
It’s like this everywhere now. I started on Herod and played there for the first 3 weeks or so. Can you find a leveling guild? That’s probably your best solution.
havent seen a low level person to ask honestly, most are guildless or getting boosted -_-
I haven’t personally run into this issue, but I have seen others post similar things.
Some of the things that people who care to run instances and level normally seem to tend to do are:
- find a leveling guild that suits you and your playstyle
- be sociable - make friends with people around your level, who play around your play time, and who you tend to run into for quest and dungeon grouping
- form groups - be the one to make groups, advertise them, and find people to join
- use
/who- for example, if you are looking for people for Stockades runs, you might want to find all the Paladins of levels 23 to 28 in Stormwind/who z-"Stormwind" 23-28 c-"Paladin"- and then ask them if they’d like to join your group.
Good luck with your journey!
Anyone with a brain knew the time to play the game for the leveling experience was when it first was released. There are good reasons people rush through content in mmo’s. You know why everyone wanted to get to level 60 in the first month of playing? Because if you waited until later you’d end up as a bench slot on somebodies guild roster, or you’d be in a super bad guild filled with players who dont know how to play the game.
Can confirm. Am still level 10 and my guild benches every level 50 undead mage we come across.
I dunno, a lot of guilds are starting second raids now… I had to stop playing for 3 months, but ive been able to get a spot in a #2 raid… It is true about lower lvl dungeons though, rarely am I seeing groups advertise for anything below brd…
I have both ally and horde on Herod and I found horde has so many more players that it is easier to get a group. On my ally its nigh impossible. People only want boosts. The game has been min/maxed in basically every area. I wish I didn’t have to take a break at launch but I did and did not get to run anywhere near the amount of dungeons I would have liked. I suggest you find a healer buddy and tank.
We’re around.
I’ve specifically kept some of my alts lowbies for this very reason.
It’s especially annoying if you wanna actually go thru a Dungeon & some 60 wisps you like you wanted a carry. LOL I’ve done the content already. I wanna actually play the game. This concept seems to be absent amongst many Classic players, but they are still around. Did you try /who?
Also, there’s an addon, if you use those, called Puggle. It’s like an old-school Dungeon Finder we used back in the day. Sometimes low level groups will pop up on there. Hope that helps.
Myzrael has some boosting but I haven’t had trouble leveling an alt through dungeons (up to lvl 32 now).
Just level solo like everyone else did. Lazy bugger.
Or hell, find some friends.
I just got my rogue alt to level 50 over the course of the last month or so on a smaller server. I found groups for things when I could, I solo quested when I couldn’t. It wasn’t like launch, but it was doable. I never once paid for a boost. If I can do it on a smaller server , I’m sure you could do it on a megaserver.
The game/server is perfect. You cray.
You dare spew lies slander and Blasphemy against Herod?
There’s plenty of low level activity. I remember I was leveling an Alliance on Herod and a Horde on Faerlina at the same time. It was much easier to get things done on Herod.
Grass is not greener on the other server. Now apologize for your ill tempered tongue!
We don’t care about the ‘‘journey’’ or the leveling experience. Most of us are here to reach 60 ASAP for PvP. That’s the only reason we’re playing this game in the first place.
Fresh realm is needed for anyone who really wants to lvl again.
PVE servers seem to have an actual leveling population doing dungeons still, it’s not all boosts like on the PVP servers I play on.
If you’re a warrior, tanking is the best way to get groups because it was always hard for me on my server to get dungeon groups as DPS. Everyone was inviting mages.
This has been that way since the start of Classic.
It’s too bad but times change and the majority will adjust to them.
Those refusing to change with the majority are usually left behind.
The grind in Classic is tedious, on the verge of boring for the most part and many players just want to get through it as soon as possible.
I dislike boost as well but it’s and understood incentive for those higher levels to take time out for something beneficial to both of you. There are some players, I for example, that occasionally boost players just being we’re bored.
Blades of light
a buddy of mine started fresh not a full month ago as a warlock. I gave him bags and a few gold but haven’t had time to level with him.
He’s in his high 30s now, has hit every dungeon from RFC through SM Arms in groups his level without a single boost.
He just said he asks people he sees leveling in his area if they wanna run a dungeon.
Sometimes you just gotta try.
