Hero Leveling

Hello, I’ve been playing Wow consistently since Dragonflight only.

I think the game needs a “Heroic Levelling” mode, where mobs are 10x harder, the levelling is slower, and you are locked to that expansion.

I levelled up in BFA with my girlfriend, and it was some of the most fun I’ve had in Wow, but it ended too quickly since we reached max level pretty fast. I think you should be able to select a slower pace levelling in Chromie time, where that character is locked into that expansion, and levelling slows down a lot, requiring you to finish the main campaign before you can exit this mode.

At the end, having veteran/adventurer gear equal to the current season/expansion would be great, allowing you to instantly start the current expansion end game content (wwi at the moment)

I’ve tried playing other expansions, but the incentive to play the optional quest and get to see the lore is just not there. It also makes bringing people to the game hard, because all the friends I’ve tried introducing to the game get either overwhelmed by how complicated it gets at end game, or don’t even get to end game because of how boring and fast-paced levelling is.

Imagine starting a Legion campaign with two buddies, where you have to plan how to fight a mob because it could kill you if you fight them with no plan. Where they can read the stories, go into a dungeon (follower dungeon?), where you can show them the mechanics and pay attention to the story.

Currently, it feels like a chore that doesn’t help to explain the story, the gearing system, mechanics, class or anything, to be honest.

Been able to play the campaigns with friends that are story-driven, while also trying to get my portals 3k rating with another character, seems like all the game types I need combine into one.

Let me know what you guys think! First time posting

I actually would like the option of “hero leveling”. I started way back in Wrath and had to go zone by zone as you leveled. I still enjoy lvling each expansion but miss slower lvling. Making it optional and not required would be great. Those that want to take forever and do each zone would be happy and those that just want to max lvl quick still could. Not sure I see Blizzard doing it though.

There is no Chromie Time that takes you to current max level. They don’t want you in Chromie Time for current expansion level ranges. They want you in the current expansion.

As for a Chromie Time that’s more difficult, sure. But no one should be locked to it.

Just make a Hard Mode Chromie Time with permanent Tyrannical and Fortified buffs.

Instead of making leveling harder they should create a leveling campaign for new players to take them to max level that will give them a recap of major lore events but isn’t tied to one expansion. This way they are integrated into the story seamlessly instead of haphazardly

Fair, current expansion level, and you unlock some cosmetic/mounts/whatever is good enough, but the point would be that you are to get to 70 right now to start WWI, you are required to finish the campaign, unless you want to grind out.

Currently, you get to 70 by doing 1/3 of the campaign. Doesn’t matter so much the gear and/or level you finish, but that they slow down the experience and make it hard enough to make it feel like its own game.

Each expansion could feel like a solo/co-op RPG game that teaches you the class, lore and mechanics of the game

Not all expansions have a campaign.

A HM Chromie Time can work just like CT does now— just add the HM portion.

That would be an entirely new type of content which they aren’t going to do.

I also thought of it, like a “summary” campaign. Although having each expansion be harder and take longer, but more in details would serve higher level player. The “summary” expansion would sever great once, but the “heroic leveling” of each expansions gives you 10+ games to enjoy

Chatgpt strikes again

“Heroic leveling” would be the same as current leveling, just with some level / ilevel scaling that increases enemy HP (so everything is a damage sponge) and enemy damage done - which IMO would be pointless.

To think Blizzard would do anything more than that given they still haven’t scaled all the older zones and rewards correctly is just folly.
