Are we even considered a Hero Class anymore? You can make more than one DK per server, but you can’t make more than one DH per server with the reason being you can only have one hero class per server. Did we really get stripped of that title in place of those winged Fel freaks?
Not that I’m complaining about being able to make more DKs, but what’s even the purpose of having a hero class if it’s not going to be above the rest of the normal classes? I think blizzard should keep its nose out of esports when it comes to WoW and go wild with the class fantasies, ignoring balance for the sake of making every class unique and fun.
They already have their other games that can be big on esports like overwatch and heroes. You know, the MOBAs genera that popularized competitive gaming. Blizz shouldn’t feel the need to put world of Warcraft in a competitive environment, especially since they kinda invented this other popular genera with Warcraft 3, being DoTA and League. Even if they technically didn’t have their hands in those games, they are still the founding fathers of it.
So why can’t heroes be heroes?

Wait till some time during the next expansion some (if not all) of the Hero Class rules for DH will probably be relaxed.
hero class means it doesn’t start at level 1, that is all.
DK got its restrictions lifted when the level gap between 55 and cap was sufficient. DH isn’t there yet.

That about covers it. I mean, the wowhead isn’t exactly explicit.
But the pedia states in no uncertain terms that the only things necessary for hero classes is the advanced level to start at, and the unique starting experience.
Which is why both dh and dk have a somewhat long scenario that they begin the game in.
And by that standard, Pandaren, Goblins, and Worgen are hero races because of the longer starting zones, as well as allied races for the minor advanced starting level. Though they were probably set at 20 just because that’s when warmode was toggleable.
It’s also the level cap for trial accounts so if a returning player has unlocked an allied race and wants to test them before buying sub time they can.
i Suppose that’s probably also a factor. Maybe even the reason that warmode is at 20 as well.

No on any of them you have access to alliance or horde and not hostile with them both.
I mean pandarens are the only one that isn’t automatically declared, which is probably why they haven’t been added to dk.
Like a panda dk would have to get sent back to wandering isle, do the faction chain, then go to capital for turn in from end of dk scenario.
allied races are probably started at 20 because blizz didn’t use any resources on starting zones for them.

Who cares we are called hero class because we are based on hero units in WC3 not because the class is suposed to be special aside from starting at lvl 55.
Or much on the races themselves.
Besides the beastly lf golden shoes, and the glyph or w/e in front and the fact there is no hornless model, they share pretty much every physical resemblance.
But now im wondering if horns is a requirement to believe in the light enough to be lightforge?
Tbh, i don’t care if the allied races are just rerolled races. But it would be kind of cool to roll a others race like the sleestacks dudes or even something truly monstrous like the size of certain garrison followers.

tbh i was really surprised lightforged draenei are the same size as normal draenei, i kinda expected them to be bigger and taller.

The “hero” part of hero class doesn’t mean they’re any more powerful or heroic than any other class, only that they start at a higher level and typically have a special lore intro. You mentioned throwing class balance out of the window, not sure what you meant by that in relation to hero classes. Do you think a hero class should be able to solo 2-3 non hero class players or something? That would be really stupid and result in every player playing a DK or DH. Classes and specs should always be as balanced as possible.
I’d have no problem with seeing all dk dungeon and raid groups. We are the best healers in the game. Albiet selfish ones.

The whole point of a unified, precision strike is to have enough different people that most, if not all instances of it is hit.
Fyi; im talking a raids raid worth of raids, not a small undertaking.
