Death knights, demon hunters, and evokers are hero classes, but monks aren’t. Why is that?
There’s nothing heroic about drinking booze and getting into a fistfight.
Because narratively they didn’t need to be. Hero classes are more about having a special prominence and starting point in a story. They’re not just beginning their journey. They’re already powerful.
I thought that was the dwarves.
There’s everything heroic about taking on bosses with nothing but a keg and your bare hands, where other tanks need armor and shields /scoff

All hero classes necessitate you play a character with a certain background, history, and traits.
You dont get to make up your own story with them. You strictly are what you are with a pre set history and goals.
Your character entered the story in the expansion the class was introduced and came in pre levelled.
