Heritage Armor Quest - Patch 11.0

*UPDATE - I’m asking if anyone is seeing heritage quest on their boosted/race change allied character. I started seeing it after 11.0 that shouldn’t see it. Just checking if they did a change to lift the restriction.

Hi, I have a character who I race changed from Tauren to Mag’har Orc a while back. I just saw the quest log for the Mag’har Orc heritage armor quest and remember seeing the following warning:

There are a few things that will prevent you from receiving your heritage armor set, so be sure not to use any of the following:

  • Character Boost tokens
  • Faction or Race changing your Allied character

I wasn’t aware of the heritage armor restriction when I race changed. I checked the 11.0 patch notes but couldn’t find anything about it being removed.

Did they remove the heritage armor restriction for Mag’har Orcs? Can I boost or race change my character now without affecting my eligibility?

No you can’t. You still need to level that race to level 50 without a level boost.

Its always been known you have to level the char to a req leveled to do heritage.

You can get to 50 in panda remix very quickly.

You will have to level one legitimately. Fortunately, MoP Remix counts as legit. And leveling in remix is super fast. I believe you might be able to level a new mag’har to the required level in remix, then jump across to your race swapped toon to do the quest.

Apparently people have done this with a trial character to do the quest part. So hopefully this would work for you. If not, only a few weeks left until remix toons are released.

I faction changed a death knight from human to nightborne quite a bit back. I also noticed the heritage armor quest when I logged onto that character, and I’ve never leveled a nightborne to 50. I completed the quest just to see if it would work and I was awarded the heritage armor. It may be a bug, maybe intended, but take advantage while you can

here’s a pic of me doing it just 5 minutes ago h ttps://imgur.com/a/w69roYq

Here’s the thing tho, i got the quest in my log after 11.0 release. That’s where I’m questioning if they removed it or not. My character got race changed to allied character. I’m wondering if anyone else came across this after 11.0 release. Anyone seeing heritage quest that they was not expecting.

Sorry, that’s what I meant. When I logged into my nightborne character today the quest was in my log and I completed it. Unsure if it’s intended though like I said in my first post.

Player-Characters

  • Addressed an issue where newly created Evoker cannot queue for legacy content.
  • Fixed a bug where a player may have been unable to fly if they had not previously unlocked Skyriding/Dragonriding. Any player-characters in this state will now automatically turn on Static Flight mode when they log in.
  • Using a Character Boost, Race Change, or Faction Change no longer disqualifies the character from doing Heritage Armor quests.

I know I was originally a human and then switched to gnome (in WoD) before going void elf (during Shadowlands). I was able to complete the gnome heritage armor quest (really fun quest) while a gnome. It remains unlocked, but I did have to level a void elf warlock alt to 50 to get the heritage armor for void elf.

Only Allied Races had restrictions for Heritage Armor, normal races like Human and Gnome could be boosted or race changed all along.

The change was just made yesterday. When did you level the void elf?

Huh, I guess that’s that.

Feels kinda cheap, but I guess Remix made it trivial to get a character to 50 anyways so it is what it is. If someone wants to drop the money for a boost or race change rather than spend a few hours leveling a character, more power to them.

The lifted requirements never applied to “Core Races.” They only applied to the Allied Races that need to be unlocked through gameplay.

During the early part of Dragonflight after getting this mage to 70.

Aye, the level 50 requirement was in place then. They just lifted it during the hotfix yesterday.

Yes they did because I race changed my Tauren shaman to dark iron a while back and I got the quest today for the armor.

Yes, I received the heritage armor quest on my boosted Vulpera. I went to Voldun as instructed and received my Vulpera Heritage Armor.
