So the argument that a good chunk of them say is this:
“Well, people would just sit in their houses and the cities would be empty!”
While I get what you’re saying, lemmie ask you this question.
When you’re sitting in the main city, does Transmog just fall into your lap as you screech political hot points to one another? No?
So then why would you think that with housing, sitting around the house would do any of us any good? You do know that we would still have to do content to upgrade the house.
Where are you getting this argument? Because it makes no bloody sense.

I just think these people would be happier renting the property instead of owning it

I mean… the people complaining, have probably never had a home of their own to decorate.

umm I think they conjure them.
Blizz will give me “Conjure TV” spell, I’m sure of it.

But they’ll miss all the important discussion going on in trade chat! /s

To be honest, this post from you is the first time I’ve ever seen it. I’ve seen plenty of people like myself who don’t see the appeal of housing and just don’t get it. But anti? Nah.

See what you’re not considering is the fact that they worked so hard on their transmog and who is going to see it if they are afk in their house and not in the expansion hub?
Imagine the horror: You spent so long coming up with the perfect outfit and people are at home minding their business instead of afk where I can see them and pretending like they care that I’m the prettiest boy in all of dornogol

the people who are anti-housing are just yelling into the void
we’ve been waiting decades for this feature, and we’re finally getting it, screaming children or not

They have a fear that housing would ruin the population / community of players, that they will hide away in homes when not doing activities. Cities will be empty, chat channels will be silent.
People with an underlying fear of uncertainty tend to skirt around it rather than saying it straight forward. I dunno why.

They are renting property. They pay for it with their subscription. Blizzard owns the property. It exists as a pattern of bits on a Blizzard server.

Chat channels… of people screaming politics to one another… of trolling… of bots…
And the housing IS the activity, we don’t get given one like a Garrison, we still have to, ya know, build it.

it’s so weird that anyone would be “anti” anything.
what do they want the development time spent on instead?

Some make the argument that we lose a raid tier, or something more akin to PVP or other things. I just chalk it up to a bunch of them thinking roleplayers are smelly.
These folks probably would hate D&D games where the DM has plot because D&D is about killing and looting monsters all while ignoring that there are full-fledged source books with backstory.

well… it’s probably been in deep background development for a few expansions now.
the people complaining, probably don’t consume any of the content anyway.
most of the complainers seem to not engage in the vast majority of …any of the available content.

The Jailer tried to warn us that unreasonable people would be posting about housing being bad but we didn’t heed him

I find it funny that the people who claim all we are going to be doing is sitting in our houses are doing so well sitting in the city waiting for their mythic plus dungeon and trolling in trade chat.
We actually have to leave the house to go farm decorations. They don’t even have to leave the city to go farm gear. If irony and hypocrisy were mountains, they would certainly be the highest peaks in the Rockies.

There was a ton of it when housing was first announced. And there are definitely whack jobs on this forum who think they know how the game should be and that housing should not exist. They will doomsay it till they’re blue in the face.

From garrisons, aka the last time we had player housing.

They’d probably want faster seasons, so more dungeons and raids on a more frequent basis.
I want my house, tho. Can’t wait for the neighbourhood.
