Here we go again

Dude. Byucknah. Yes.

I just. Idk about you guys. But I’m so done with borrowed systems that are served with a side system salad with a system vinaigrette…
Why can’t I just go kill a thing, get the thing, wear the thing, and just have the thing be good without a bunch of faloompaloomp?

Edit: speelingz. Worm in undead brain make word not good.

So if i do serious content i have the right to complain? then i will, covenants having power tied to them is a bad idea, change them so we can swap them easily or make the power gains negligible.

And before you ask why i complain before trying it, we got corruption, and we all know the impact of it, so i dont wanna try covenants to see how impactful they are, i would rather tell blizz from the get go to change it.

Unless AG has a time machine, and has traveled to the future and played the game, post launch of SL, using every single Race/Class combos/gear with all Covenants & Talents, in all situations/group combos, i.e. raids, dungeons, questing, world bosses, etc… he has no idea what he’s talking about.

For sure, dude. If only there was a system that games could use, like, some sort of program or special server that allowed these things to be tested before final release. Then Blizzard could make changes depending on feedback and data received…

Like how they did with Azerite armor, huh? Only took from BFA Alpha till patch 8.2 to handle that situation. All that Alpha and Beta feedback that didn’t get taken seriously until the halfway point of the expansion.

I can’t imagine why people would be giving feedback so soon.

I think Devs are on the right track.

Not everyone is unhappy with news that has come out so far.

True, but these abilities don’t seem in the same vein as Azerite armour. The biggest issue I saw with the armour was needing the AP to use the perks. The Shadowlands abilities are tied to your Covenant of choice and would probably be easier to balance out when compared to the Azerite Power system.

Not the response I was expecting. I can respect the heck out of this, you are true they are two entirely different systems.

Personally though, just from what we know so far, I am not entirely on board and feel its flawed and problematic. A system that gives a false idea of choice.

We got azerite and corruption on BFA, everyone knows how imactful they are, and people still take the wait till its out stance, such a meme, you guys just dont learn.

Still plenty of time for things to be ironed out, I’m sure Blizz will be much more (hopefully) attentive to these new systems.

Why was this post flagged?

Cause it has asmongold on it most likely, despite the complain being completely legit and understandable.

You know exactly why. The A word was used, spoiler.

People have offered suggestions.

Stop towing the company line and read some of the proposals.

It should really only be for story telling and cosmetic purposes. He’s 100% correct and he’s saying this from a position of someone who has played the game religiously for many hours in the week since the beginning.

If you put new toys in the game with no drawbacks people will always pick the one theorycrafted to be the best. This is fine for classes for example because there are pros AND cons to playing a class. That counterbalance of well, I hit the hardest but I’m also the slowest.

Counterbalance is just missing here. In that they could keep the covenant system but introduce a con to the covenant you choose that could be used to counterbalance the power of them.

It’s kinda like where classes are right now in BFA. If you give one class the best mobility, best healing, best damage and best mitigation that’s what everyone is going to play. Nobody wants to play something obviously inferior.

I personally don’t feel like counterbalancing is done very well right now. That nobody is really thinking hey, instead of making this slightly less powerful what can we add that will make it less attractive? Maybe Necrolord reduces movement speed or maybe Venthyr has a max hp reduction. I’m spitballing here but you get the idea.

There there. I’m sure it’s a totally original take, OP.

Covenants should be nothing more than fill the bar weekly daily quest and extra activities that send you all over the world. Only reward cosmetic mounts, toys, armor and weapon mogs of its theme. The “abilities” should be only movement speed animations in the world and their hubs player housing like legion class halls.

it’s almost as if they’re the ones who get to choose the ultimate design on a game which people continue to subscribe to.
I get the feeling that they have more of an idea of the market than you do.

the changes which were made prior to Cata weren’t all based on things which players wanted.
in fact… wrath introduced one of the most hated systems in the game, but you want to completely gloss over that?

So, I read through it. And, unfortunately, he does have a point. People play follow the leader.

If something is even 1% better, the top raiders will go for it at all costs to improve their times for competition. Some of those guys are making a fair chunk of change on Twitch, via subs, sponsors, etc.

Unfortunately, they have to stay competitive to retain their income. They’re playing WoW for a living. They have to BE the best and FIND the best or they lose money. It’s their living.

Because of this, unfortunately, Horde is more dominating than Alliance now - even if it’s just a slight bit from racials. Blood Elves were able to cheese some of the Prophet’s fights in Uldir. I was in one of these guilds. They had a steady rotation of Blood Elves JUST for that one fight to make it easier. A lot of race changes.

If you don’t think that this has a long-term effect, you’ve lost it mentally. Other players see Blood Elves are the best for something, but don’t grasp why fully, but everyone else is doing it, ya know?

Yes Byucknah is awesome. And so is Neall and Lull (even though she/he dresses like a streetwalker.)
