Made this post a few months ago about the KSM S1 mount, with which 95% of the pop on wowhead seemed to be disappointed with.
Not me thinking they’d actually put efforts in making a new KSM mount that could at least fly, no, let’s make it more dragonic so people don’t cry too much.
Well it doesn’t fly. Thanks a lot.
On wowhead, someone in the comment describes my feeling with this mount : Sure listen to feedback about everything but the KSM mounts. We don’t dislike these mounts, we dislike them as the KSM mounts. Give us dragonriding skins like PvP or a flying mount.
This mount looks very cool indeed, but it isn’t worth being a KSM mount. It doesn’t even fly, but both PvP and Raiding have dragonriding skins which is even better than flying
They downgraded the difficulty of KSM, so is its reward. They did downgrade the reward for KSM but they made KSM more accessible to the masses… With more KSM players, more players would be geared for AoTC. If you get KSM, pls proceed to AOTC. You are almost there in gear anyway.
And there are now loots/Vault for KSH to increase participation for Mythic Raids.
This but unironically. All mounts in dungeons (besides exactly NO) are effectively ground mounts so it being able to fly or not is literally irrelevant. I usually just use my mammoth so I can sell/repair while running around AA or RLP.
I don’t mind this, but full 15s is worth AoTC both in the work you put to get there and in the rewards you’re getting from doing those. Then try to finish full 20s timed see what happens.
This is a reward for having all 15s, and although a lot will have it (over 20%) so does AoTC. As far as I remember, all AOTC mounts aside from the first one in Siege of Orgrimmar fly. So does every single KSM mount before DF.
From my own experience and a lot of people that I’ve seen think the same way :
Ahead of the Curve = Keystone Master = Rival (1800R pvp).
Cutting Edge = Whatever it is in M+ but all 20s timed = Gladiator (2400R pvp)
Since they nerfed Keys a bit, let’s say Cutting Edge is probably all 22s-25s instead, well make a reward for it.
Gladiator had the coolest looking Dragonriding customization, and so does Raiding. A lot thought that Mythic Raiding was Raszageth’s Customization, and it wasn’t ! You can even get it in LFR.
So is KSM not worth as much as LFR raiding ? I wonder…
Thanks for letting me know. I am French, just so you know.
KSM mounts have usually been very lackluster. Even in SL when they could fly (once flying was enabled), they weren’t practical mounts because they were so large that you often had to dismount to get into normal sized doorways…not to mention that while overall very cool looking, they were all literally just reskins each season. Something an intern probably cranked out on a lunch break after the initial model was made.
Tbh while I am not TOO FOND of the design of the KSM mount, it being a “small” mount at least makes it more usable than SL as you can actually fit through doors.
I completely agree with that. But again these mounts don’t look ugly, god even this new one here looks awesome because they finally put a bit more work into it than just taking a random beast from the Azure Span and adding in a saddle.
The problem is just the work to get that kind of mount while someone who does the similar work on other aspect of the game gets way betterlooking mounts.
Yeah cause it’s an irrelevant answer, nobody passes their time in dungeons, even people doing MDI most likely are passing way more time outdoors than indoors.
I don’t care if my mount is ground so hey it’s usable when I do them M+s, let me have a flying one so I can do that PLUS use it in the outdoors thaT’s literally all those thinking like me want.
If the KSM mounts never flew ever since they started making them, I wouldn’t say a thing. Look at the Vicious, nobody cries cause they don’t fly, but they look hella freaking cool and really really fits the PvP theme there was.
This KSM mount we just got in S1 looked like dogpoop, it had no work put into it, and couldn’t fly. As I said they took a random beast from the Azure Span, added on it a saddle, and threw it behind a 2k rating requirement from M+.
It’s just not a practical reward. KSM should have rewarded a new dragonriding mount itself or at least a unique skin for the existing dragonriding mounts. Whose going to use a lousy ground mount? I have 3 mount buttons on my bar. My DR proto drake, my yak, and my regular promotion proto drake for the very brief times I’m in non DF content where for whatever dumb reason, I can’t just use my DR mount as a regular flying mount.
In fact, I didn’t even mount up on the KSM mount when I got it. I seen someone else on it so meh, literally 0 reason in my mind to dig it out of the book for even that moment. Like all the other hundreds of mounts I got, it’s just a +1 at this point.
False. I work way harder in 10’s - 12’s even back in past expansions 10’s and 12’s than I ever have in any modern heroic raid especially on fortified weeks. Not that getting KSM takes the leetest of gaming skills, but raiding is super duper easy. In keys, every pull feels like I’m teetering on the brink of life and death and always under the gun to go faster, pull more, and do I “really” need to use this cooldown right now or can I pull a little bit more and can the group handle it…etc.
Raid tanking is like “oh time to taunt swap. Taunt. Push buttons. Dodge this. Ok other tank’s turn.”
