The solution to soothe all Crackshot drama/complaints, fix bugs, drastically improve rotation complexity and magically make the spec much more accessible to the majority of the player base without even making the spec more or less powerful is :
Entering stealth 100% always resets BtE cooldown. (Bake this statement “in” the BtE…not in crackshot…)
That way all builds can/could reset BtE cd…everybody wins.
Law does deserve that small QoL change since it would not even buff us in any ways but simply remove track of 1 out of many timers we have to pay attention to….

What makes Crackshot so strong is that it creates an actual burst window for Outlaw - it allows a period where you can spam Crackshot that ALSO does a 50% Dispatch. Right now Outlaw’s damage profile outside of Crackshot is okay-ish during Adrenaline Rush and it just sort of falls off a cliff when AR is down.
Having Between the Eyes reset when stealthing is a great quality of life change, but ultimately is still just a bandage for Outlaw’s problems.
I would argue that using Vanish as a Outlaw’s main damage burst window is still weird, and that stealth bonuses should be in the class tree and should primarily be for openers (best in ‘open world’ type play where you move between mobs quickly). I feel Outlaw needs a talent overhaul - not necessarily a complete overhaul, but at the very least the bottom section needs to be redone because right now it’s pretty much just Crackshot, Hidden Opportunity, and Fan the Hammer dominating it with no build variety.
The solution is to remove all purely stealth effect bonuses from the spec trees and move them as options to the class tree, Restless Blades no longer affects Vanish, and have Crackshot instead be tied to a non stealth cooldown (whether it’s Adrenaline Rush, or something else like Dreadblades or something new), and then redesign a good chunk of Outlaw’s talents.
Edit: I may make a thread post sometime about my thoughts on more specific details about changes to Rouges I’d like to see.

Imo crack shot windows should be triggered from AR and killing spree (at the end of killing spree and killing spree needs to leave you at your target ffs)
Also keep shadow step you noobs

I thought outlaw was a lot of fun in shadowlands and prior. Ever since DF, I can’t stand it.

I highly agree with you.
I was offering a temporary solution.
I myself dislike vanish being part of the rotation!
And I seriously miss the days of Legion Outlaw.
Very strong identity!
Very cool abilities!
Dreadblade was awesome…best among all abilities that defined outlaw!
No vanish (minimal anyways) required.
And the list could go on.
They kept improving for sure but huge mistakes were done down the road!
In the case of a rework, this time, they seriously need to go back and consider bringing back and incorporating core abilities that defines “Outlaw”!
All the while making sure all options of talents and dps overall are ~5% close to each others.

Hmm, I rather enjoy Outlaw now that Killing Spree is relevant again, and IMHO is the best Rogue move since Vanilla.
I’m doing pretty well in dungeons so far, it’s better than it was in DF.
