I am logged into 14 right now and about to do Puppet’s Bunker (not sure why, just because?) again.
It’s a cool alliance raid, but it’s a shame it’s not relevant at all.

You need to do it if you want to upgrade your vendor gear. The gear that drops from the place isn’t bad either, especially if you’re a newer player. Also, glamour lol.
Dude, take a chill pill. Your WoW fanboi rage is going to give you a heart attack.
Also, I’ve been a WoW player for over 14 years. You should know better than to make assumptions based on forum avatars.
Imagine Blizzard focusing on proper class balance like ff14 and not borrowed power systems they themselves create problems for on something no one asked for.
And it’s once a week and gated also behind Allegories.
Will take you a literal eternity to gear up more than one job role.
wow could absolutely balance all classes and specs in terms of damage but they ARE lazy. They use too many systems they themselves dont understand
You’re not wrong
But 14 isn’t a good comparison because its just much less complex.
It’s like saying basic algebra is easier than calculus.
That’s true but I don’t think anyone uses it exclusively, mostly just to fill in holes in their gear.
Big problem I have with gear, and one reason why I am just kinda indifferent to gear in that game, is that it never feels impactful.
You get gear…and numbers go up. You don’t really get stronger like you do in WoW, since in a lot of content you ilvl or level sync down anyway, and it opens you up to…4 boss savage raid content. Ultimates after that. In other content, there isn’t even any combat. (overworld). There’s just less stuff to do.
At least in WoW, the feeling of power progression is tangible in pretty much everything you do. So it’s still worthwhile.
My character certainly feels more powerful since E1S to E8S lol.
For all those times you are able to or need to use it out in the world or dungeons? Most of them sync you down anyway.
At least in WoW, there’s some measure of progression and practical application.
Get a few new pieces, do a few higher keys. Get a little stronger, do even higher keys.
14 doesn’t offer any similar power scaling content.
Where would I need to use it other than the raid fights? I mean it’s the same thing in WoW. You don’t need to be fully Mythic geared to clear a dungeon.
This is true.
That’s the thing though, you have chores/daily stuff to do in WoW, and you becoming stronger makes those tasks easier as a reward for completing progressively difficult content.
In 14 it just doesn’t happen. There’s almost zero reason to even wander out in the world that involves combat. You get the gear for Savage, and pretty much that’s it.
You get ilvl synced in any dungeon older than the current one, and same goes for Alliance raids and regular raids.
I suppose I hate the fact in so much of the game they take your power away.
That’s a miserable feeling.
You can’t even unsync current stuff to steamroll it.
Meanwhile if you want to carry some guys in low keys, you can in WoW. Or whatever. It’s just a difference in personal power progression, I think. It can get a bit out of hand here, but I do enjoy it.
They are easy with dungeon gear lol. There’s nothing in the outside WoW world that is remotely dangerous or so difficult that you need high end gear to complete.
Nothing really in WoW either outside of, as you say, chores.
Yeah, I never really cared about that.
Technically you can in FF as well with dungeons. The sync feature isn’t perfect and people going in with full savage gear can blow through it with ease to the point where you probably don’t even need a healer. I’m not sure how many times I’ve had to tank a boss with no heals because the healer dropped dead lol.
you aren’t allowed to do undersized party for current expansion dungeons.
Level 80 dungeons incur ilvl sync to 470 for amorout --> anamnesis, so even normal raid stuff you are not gaining anything past the first raid tier
Cool but I never claimed otherwise. As I said, the sync feature isn’t perfect and I’ve frequently tanked with dead healers. Helps when I’m tanking as a warrior too lol.
I am just saying that you do lose power and for the purposes on the dungeons, you aren’t actually gaining anything for having stronger gear.
Also Warrior is OP af in dungeons. That’s not really a fair comparison.
No you dont. Theres three ways to upgrade Crystarium gear:
Realistically, you dont have to touch Puppets Bunker nor Copied Factory to upgrade the gear.
Yeah, but they are easy enough where it doesn’t matter.
