Not sure if this is a thing or not, or if there’s a perk we’ll get eventually to help, but can we have different colors for the various herb/mining nodes? It’s getting really annoying flying over herbs and having to mouseover them quickly to see if it’s an elemental one or not.
Yeah, flying at around 1,000% speed makes it hard to check what the node is indicating (fishing, too) without losing control of your dragon.
I’ve gotten really good at checking the Mini map while flying fast
But in a pinch just fly straight up and check and then fly down you’ll get your vigor back.
Yeah, I do something similar, but wouldn’t it make sense to just color code them if their elemental?
Dark Blue - Frost
Light Blue - Wind
Green - Decayed
Brown - Titan
Yellow - Regular
Grey - Underground
Wouldn’t that just make it way better?
If you’re into organization and simplicity and convenient.
But I play wow
Would simply be better if you fly over them they gather themselves right into your bags. Problem solved.
Honestly, I would like this just color code them.
I mean, I guess I see the allure of it. It would be pointless for me though I just gather everything. Cherry picking nodes is just how you end up with zones full of nodes you don’t want. ![]()
I just want different colors for the different types of herbs.
That’s fair.
Not sure how this would work.
What if it’s a frigid hochenblaum?
or Titan-Touched Bubble Poppy?
Having them a different colour would help. I mean, I like they made ore and herbs at least a different shape, but if I knew the pink one was a herb I didn’t need, I could carry on to the next one. It’s a QoL thing which would be very handy.
it’s almost as bad with normal flying and bad vision all the icons sort of blend together.
No, everyone wants those and it is annoying that people expect to just cherry pick the good ones and not pick the common herbs/ore that generate those.
so many people don’t understand this or don’t care but it is really annoying to go around picking the common and never see the rarer ones because someone else is flying around cherry picking the others and leeching off you.
I used to use this addon called Gathermate that iirc showed nodes as different colors/shapes. Meant to check if it’s still working and if I can just load Writhebark and maybe Saxifrage.
Also, when casually gathering I still have to sit and wait for vigor to build at times. Super irritating and will be nice to get regular flying again.
I kind of hear you, but now we have more than just a time investment. There is also the vigor investment. I suppose some will say “nahhh i never run out of vigor,” which is nice for them assuming you believe 'em, but I run out of vigor quite nicely with all the stopping for herbs and ores.
my rousing farming miner/enchanter build can’t stop for every node, it’s a 3 second mining cast and can’t mine while mounted due to it not being priority for the build I’m going for.
Edit: I also wish nodes were color coded even though I’m really good at driving and minimap checking at high speeds.
The problem of only picking the nodes you want, is that basically everyone wants the same type of nodes. No one wants the filler herbs/ore. If you only grab what you want, then over time you will have access to less overall as the things you harvested respawn with nodes you will add to the ignore list.
It’s why I hate this form of gathering so much. I greatly prefer how games like Ryzom, Istaria, and FF14 do it. You want a certain ingredient? You go to that part of the world where it is and there are generally enough nodes for everyone (rare nodes sometimes have more stipulations). You gather what you need in the fraction of a time WoW’s gathering takes, and then wander off to craft what you wanted.
Agree with this. I wish we could color code a lot of things…having dirt piles, magic chests, expedition packs, those stupid fishing things, and rares all being the same color was beyond stupid since we have no way to filter any of it out. I legit don’t even want to get rep with the seal people because it’s enough of a mess as it is choosing which arrow I want to follow most of the time.
This doesn’t just apply to current content either. I’ve been farming for some cosmetic stuff in korthia, and I’m hunting mawsworn caches, but constantly seeing pointers for EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE ZONE.
Well,if they don’t pick them then the good one don’t develop ,yet people don’t understand this. If you have a field of one kind and not pick it it stays that way and no random herbs or mineral change.
