Bring back our herb farming like in WoD or something equivalent or make herbs so plentiful not worth multiboxing. Just went to herb some zinanthid in Nazjatar and finding herbs for a short while until a 5 druid pack all close together (nearly on top of each other) went up to the node and instantly herbed it (all five) then moved on to the next etc. All the zin wiped out. And they move in, are visible, harvest, then invisible til the next node etc. What is the point of gathering when this kind of thing is allowed. I’d rather have our gardens again.
I’ve found this more frustrating than early on struggling to find anchorweed early in BfA. Other annoyances such as herbs floating up in the sky, herbs/ore fully hidden inside rocks, and ore that disappears when you get near but reappear when you move away leave me wondering if I’d rather just go back to having a garden.
That sounds more like hacking than a multiboxer.
If multi-boxing is allowed, why not let us play multiple chars at the same time using one account? Sort of like Might and Magic 6.
Multiboxing is allowed because it makes Blizzard a lot of extra money. That guy with 5 druids all picking herbs together is paying $75 a month for the privilege. Multiple chars from one account wouldn’t earn them an extra penny.
Maybe make tiers of accounts. Say bronze, silver, gold, platinum. The higher the tier the more you pay, and the more characters you can play at the same time on one account.
Is 5 the limit? If you are the 6th person to loot a node, you can’t loot? I thought the limit was higher than 5, so you could still loot after 5 others. After all, them looting has no effect on how quickly you get there and loot (you have 30 seconds after the first player loots). But I am not sure I remember correctly. Maybe 5 is the limit.
Even so, you are simply saying that someone beat you to the node.
“Pointless”? Seriously? Are you claiming that MOST times you see a node, a group of 5 gets to it and loots it before you can loot it, thus preventing you from gathering?
The tap limit is 10. Once the first tap happens, the timer begins. I would argue that a single druid could farm out a zone faster than any multiboxer, since a single player is far more agile than a boxer.
Apparently he witnessed the ole invisible underground hack trick. I’m no fan of multiboxers but this seems more of a hack problem than a guy having 5 druids problem.
I report every instance I see of multi boxers as cheating because they are since they have an unfair advantage over one player.
You do understand that if they’re just multiboxing, the report accomplishes nothing. You’re not changing anyone’s mind.
ALMOST EVERY player in the whole game has an “advantage”. You don’t have the right to decide (for millions of people) that THIS advantage is “unfair”, but all these other advantages are okay:
- more time to play (doesn’t have a job or a family)
- a better guild
- a faster PC and internet connection
- ability to make friends and influence people
- my faction has better queues
- my faction has better AV, WSG or WPVP strategies
- my class has better racials than your class
- I can buy gold (in retail) with real money
- I can make huge amounts of gold (in Classic) using the AH
- my class can solo farm dungeons and make insane gold
…and the list goes on and on. When it is YOUR game, YOU can decide which ones are “unfair cheating”. Until that time, let Blizzard decide.
so if my friend got banned for 14 days doing a multi boxing deal in lich king with them saying he was exploiting loot rules off of bosses -he was wrongly accused of cheating right? Sorry multi boxing is cheating and exploiting the economy
Plenty a time I’ve seen a tightly clustered swarm of druids or mounted tanks descend upon a node and deplete it and each successive node in Nazjatar. There were no other players around harvesting herbs that I could see. If I could correctly guess which direction the swarm had not yet been, then yes I could get ahead of them. If I did not guess correctly then they were able to clear out an area and effectively negate my ability to gather items for myself.
Yes, I would call that an unacceptable advantage that I do consider cheating.
How many bots? What was the “deal”? Who was the “deal” with? Who accused him of cheating? Was this in a battleground? Is Lich King even part of Classic, or did this situation happen in retail WoW?
Blizzard might have decided what HE did was cheating, without Blizzard deciding that “all multi-boxing is cheating”. Those are not the same thing at all.
LOL! The old friend of mine got banned for cheating while he was completely innocent comment. Seen this sooooo many times. I doubt your friend was just multi boxing away in complete innocence and got banned.
Loot rules off bosses??? What in the world is that? I’ve played this game since day one and I’ve never heard of “exploiting loot rules off bosses”. You gotta explain this a little better. Sounds made up.
I have an ethical question about something similar:
I have seen a group of moonkin stacked in an area casting an AE, and basically harvesting skins non-stop, as the mobs spawn as fast as they are killed. As a skinner, I know that it’s rude to steal skin from another player. Would it still be considered rune/unethical to steal the skins from this harvesting multiboxer/bot(?)/group?
Mutli boxing is such an in efficient manner in which to multi-character. Instead of each character having their own game client instance, just have one game client instance and the ability to control multiple chars at the same time on that one game client.
I “steal” from multiboxing gatherers like that all the time. I tag as much as possible and loot or skin it as fast as I can. Let them do the work and I’ll get the reward. If it’s a multiboxer I have no qualms at all doing that. A single player or two though? I’ll ask to join them or move on.
he was tanking and healing in a dungeon, thought I covered that part and blizzard said it was exploiting-so multi boxing is cheating.
