Herbing + mining is a loss

Can you elaborate? I plan to make one similar gatherer alt.

Herbing ain’t easy. I thought Dracthyr were the new meta for gathering?

It’s brain dead easy gold. Sure going to work and buying gold is more efficient.

Herbing and Mining are the only things you don’t need to invest hundreds of thousands of gold to max out, however since release the gold bots have been destroying the market, in fact on our server within 3 days we had one seller whom was selling 150,000 + herbs which should be impossible to obtain in 3 days unless you bot on several different accounts which until today I questioned since I really haven’t seen anyone that appeared to be botting but I was wrong.

Apparently the botters now use bots that go under the world to farm the nodes so you don’t see them or report them as I was randomly herbing today and probably encountered 10 or so players half in the ground, half above it, they would come up grab the herb then disappear back under the world, I am assuming these are the same players that dominate the AH on our server with herbs and ore, simply buying out everyone that sells under them and reposting at a much higher rate.

Granted, all gathering is out is time but you can’t even come close to setting a price or competing (on our server at least) when you have all the bots and exploiters that already destroyed the prices since beta and day one however like I said you can still make gold and just be out time, which is why if you are smart you will keep gathering professions and work in them instead of other professions as you will be out more money than they are worth but Mining and Herbing will be pure profit.

You seem to not understand why their both good i have made quit a decent chunk of change with both.

I rarely see ore nodes or herb nodes so there has to be some heavy botting going on. On the other hand I’ve made a killing fishing and skinning.
