Herbalism vs Mining

Having done both over the last few weeks, I can’t help but notice how substantially worse herbing feels right now over mining. Two main issues:

  • Far lower yield
  • Persistently lower quality

For example, my miner regularly pulls 2-4 ore from a normal ore, and with maxed bismuth its almost always 2* with a good supply of 3*. Rich nodes consistently give 6+ total ore with a chance for the chunk for an extra gather.

Herbing on the other hand, despite also having a maxed herber with 40/40 bountiful harvest and 40/40 spear scavenger, still regularly plucks only one 1* arathors spear from a node.

That doesn’t even get into the finer details like how overloading an ez-mine node is literally 300% better than overloading an irradiated node. Has it always felt this imbalanced between the two?

I wouldn’t judge between the spears and bismuth. Spears are comparable to wrihbark from DF, the most frustrating herb of the bunch even if specialized optimally. Even a fully specialized would get 2 out of a lush node! Bismuth, despite being the most lucrative ore in TWW, is the entry level ore. Its counterpart in DF is Serevite. It really does not compare.
