What do you think is better or gold farm? I have been herbing but was thinking of switching to mining.
I done both.
Hands down mining way better. All black lotus is camped by farmers.
Thats why i was thinking of switching to mining. I’ve spent like 6 hours lotus farming and got 1
If you farm herbs, dreamfoil is ok, but azahara on my server is heavily camped most of the time.
Mining there isn’t much competition, and if you can farm DME… baller money from mining 2 nodes at the end.
Also Silithus, no one farms mine nodes there, I find a lot there for now.

From my experience as a miner on my server.
Thorium is worthless, gems are worthless only arcane crystals make any kind of money.
If I’d been a herber I could atleast reduce alot of my raid costs substantially and maybe make abit extra on the side from selling dreamfoil.
Depends on class, server type, and faction balance.
For example- if say you’re on a pvp server and are the outnumbered faction, farming in the world becomes considerably more challenging, and your best profession may end up depending on what you can solo/duo reasonably.
Examples- warlocks/mages/hunters that wanna do Mara for ghost mushroom farm would do better with herbalism, or aoe doing lasher farm for herbs in DME.
But if you can do DME jump runs including the final boss solo- as warlocks can- there’s a full corridor of rich thorium behind the boss, and doing that for arcane crystals and other gems is perhaps the best farm in the game right now as a miner.
Of course- if you’re the dominant faction on pvp, or on a pve server- you may base it more on what’s in the world. Black lotus of course is the big score for herbalists, but if every spot is farmed constantly it is an all or nothing gamble that often results in nothing.
Whereas there’s far more thorium in the world and arcane crystals are needed for a long time, and mithril is also lucrative as solid stones will be needed for sappers by raiders and rankers from now until the servers collapse.

Mining + engineering is god money and god pvp
i dont care for engineering my 1300 cl,shocks and lb dont need grenades for stunning my fire nova totems also deal 1k damage i am an ele shaman.
You say that now, until you run into premades full engineering. It’s god mode. I’ve felt the pain already once.
i already ran in to premades esfands to be exact av was over in 5m and i dont do wsg.
