I have a Paladin that has Herbalism. The issue I have is that I have to fight for 50% of my herbs. I was thinking of moving my 50 Rogue or Druid to picking herbs. That way I can stealth in and out to get my resources.
Obviously a Druid will eventually fly, but what about trying a rogue?
Any thoughts?
Tauren Druid is best with herb prof.
Fly and speed picking, plus you don’t have to break out of flight form.

Tauren druid is easily #1 cause of stealth or mount and pick. Rogue isn’t a bad alternative, but there’s no real good reason to go with them over druid. Only advantage is they can vanish periodically if you don’t want to fight.
I used to use a rogue on herb mount in BFA and he had the herbalism enchant so he could pick quickly so that also works. Not sure if that exists for SL.
A druid will be helpful for travel form. Unless you can stay stealthed while picking flowers (I figured it un-stealthed you), I don’t think stealth will help a ton.
You can also go the Sky Golem route. Can pick flowers as long as they don’t daze you or hit you while picking. Get the SL gathering enchant to make the gathering part really fast, and I haven’t had many issues just using sky golem.
Oh yeah, it help a ton if you spec tank before using Sky Golem, so you don’t get dazed and forced dismount.
Another point for druid!

If you get the gather speed on ur gloves you can do a quick run by on herbs even if a mob is hitting you.
In sl you don’t have be angry at a druid herbs come on it still takes hours to herb with or without stealth. But those that use sky golem just run past mobs with no problem. So who is what?
As others have said if it is in areas where you can fly, druid is the best… You have to ‘land’ but you don’t have to get out of travel form. That being said if you’re stealthing, you’ll break stealth when you pick the herb, so you’ll still end up fighting the mob unless you can CC them.
(For those who don’t have a druid,) rogue gatherers also work well. You can stealth between nodes and have the bonus run speed while stealthed. You can go invis to drop combat or just sprint away. (Yeah, all that applies to kitty druids too.)
Starting at lvl 50 works just fine. Almost all the mobs are scaled to your level, so they’ll be lvl 50 as well. There are some areas that have lvl 60/61 mobs though. Just have to watch out for them. My rogue has done nothing but gathering since leaving the Maw and I’ve had no problems, but I’ve mostly stuck to Bastion.
There are DMF potions to help with gathering speed and the Sky Golem can allow you to pick flowers while mounted.
- Enchant your gloves
- Go tank spec
- Use the sky golem mount
Congratulations now you are a druid
I sheep them if possible grab the herd and run away.
Ali yes sky golem, and enchant. Don’t even really need to be tank spec but I bet it helps
