I’m not sold on 2 whole seconds giving Templar the swing advantage.
It’s akin to these 3% damage buffs that do nothing

If they hadn’t made the changes to the duration of Shake the Heavens, I would’ve agreed with you. I think the longer duration of Shake the Heavens along with 50 stacks to proc Light’s Deliverance is going to make the free proc of HoL far more common.
Depends on the content you play though I suppose. Like I mentioned before, I’m still cautious about Empyrean Hammers in PvP, but the upfront burst on your main target and nearby cleave targets is a massive gain for burst.
well ya I hope so too, but in beta and when released templar IMO was so terrible that Ive been herald since day 2 of release.
I never even knew about this bug people got to use that allowed unlimited HoL in a 12s window.
When I was trying templar last week I could never get to 60 stacks or even close to it after the HoL activation follwoing wake.
Yeah. I’ve been saying this since beta. Templar is a target dummy spec. It needs to do obscene damage in sims to be worth anything in practise.
I am not even convinced these gigantic buffs will be enough for Templar to really take the crown. Rather I think we will swap hero specs between bosses now. Well, ideally anyways.
Imagine how bad Ret would have been hadn’t Blizzard fixed the Herald bugs before the raid opened. Likely bottom by a large margin.
The only thing they would need to do to fix Templar is to make it so Shake the Heavens uses the target and its own vicinity as the focal point instead of the player. This way it doesn’t fall off when you’re forced out of range to dodge a mechanic or if your opponent creates distance.
I’m just happy that Herald is doing as well as it has. Templar just didn’t do it for me, felt like it was a one tricky pony.
The boosts to healing and passive procs have really gotten me back into doing m+ with my Ret again.
