Which is more effective? and fun?
Herald is definitely more straight forward. Choose the other if you like to also attack while healing. There’s big changes coming down the pipe though.
Can you elaborate on the changes? I’ve been away for most of the past 2 months and am looking forward to being back in the next week or so.
What’s more fun is subjective.

Depends on what you want to focus on, but the gist is that Herald is reliable sustained damage with a more straightforward rotation and a greater emphasis on AoE and group utility, while Templar has better single target damage that is a little more challenging to play correctly.
If you want the most damage you can get on bosses and are comfortable working a 5 Holy Power spender into your rotation and really like hammers, Templar is for you. If you don’t want to consciously worry about your rotation as often and dig the idea of angling a bunch of sick lasers through friends and enemies alike, you may prefer Herald of the Sun.
