But, I do think Herald will scale well with better gear and more mastery. The dots damage will do extremely well as the expansion progresses. That is just my two cents…
read my post, herald is bad because its bugged, so is part of templar. Watch lvladen on youtube. Whenever we find bugs, there is a video about it to show what it is and why were so weak.
Yeah idk why the hammer is kind of delayed
I’ve simmed my char and the difference between Herald and Templar in ST is 5% dps, so at 600k DPS Herald, you have 630k dps Templar.
To note that that’s the same difference between a build with Crusade+ Radiant Glory against AW: Might + Divine Wrath. Crusade + RG is 5% ahead of Might + DW.
On the contrary. Dawnlight cannot crit, so it scales pretty badly. And Sun Sear, which is supposed to make up for the lack of crit scaling, is absolutely terrible. It does less damage than Touch of Light. They could unironically buff it by 1000% and it still would be bad. And no, that’s not an extra 0 there. 1000%.
It’s just an animation quirk to give it more “weight” and “oomph”. Demolish has the same thing going on.
Is it because it’s 24 % of SPELL POWER instead of Attack Power or is that a WoWhead typo?
Well…damn.
That seriously sucks.
Not sure if it’s a typo or not. But it doesn’t matter. It’s just undertuned as hell. It does like 0.2% of my total damage, both in practise and in sims. Often less than Touch of Light.
And i am not sure why it only does 24% for Ret when it’s 54% for Holy. And of course, it only procs of off HoW and DS crits. Meaning it’s rarely up in single target. Doesn’t roll either to my knowledge, so the damage is just lost if you get back to back crits.
Yeah it does. Herald doesn’t need a lot to be competitive with Templar. Giving Dawnlight the ability to crit and buffing Ret’s Sun Sear to 54% (like Holy) and giving it the ability to “roll” (i.e any remaining damage is added to the next proc should you get them back to back) would probably be enough.
Dawnlight doesn’t scale with mastery ATM it seems, just checked that Lvladen guy video and went online to check.
Tooltip at least doesn’t change when I removed my crit/mastery ring, it moved on the mastery/vers one.
Didn’t check with details yet.
That would be a giga-oooff.
That would explain why Templar is soo much ahead right now.
Just went on, removed burn to ashes talent to be sure.
On Kelpfist in the main city with 29% mastery
Dawnlight did 184k damage.
I popped a flask of mastery and went to 33%
Dawlight did 184k damage…
It doesn’t scale…
Herald/Dawnlights not scaling with crit OR mastery has to be a bug and not intentional, right?
I hope a fix is in place soon, I was convinced that it scales.
The spell info on WoWhead doesn’t say it doesn’t crit and Mastery not affecting it HAS to be a bug.
I have 800k+ As herald…
And what do you have as Templar(+exact number for Herald)? And at what ilvl, to have a reference.
I just gave some numbers as an example for easy calculations, but the % is the ones i’m talking about as a difference.
