Helping a level 55 level

I am very confused about the timelines and working with other toons. I have a friend who is level 55 trying to get to 60 for DF. I thought I could just run her through some dungeons, but we’re out of phase. And I cannot choose a different timeline with my level 70. So what’s the best way that I can help her level?

Maybe you can make a level 10 allied race or get on one of your alts that’s around the same level as her and either heal or tank?

Have you tried Party Sync?

how?

if they’re in Chromie time, get them to leave it.

i can’t think of anything else which would prevent you from playing together like normal.

As above, you could have them get out of Chromie Time and try party sync.

And I have found a possible if you and a friend are in different versions of Chromie time. We had to both be in the same version of it for some reason. I don’t know if this was a bug or just an oversight though.

I appreciate all the responses. But it’s not solving the problem. I’m a 70, she’s a 55. If we drop Chromie time we can’t run something like Ramparts, as she’ll see them as level 30s and won’t get any xp for the quests. And if she’s on Chromie time, we’re out of sync and can’t run the dungeon at all.

There used to be a number of ways to help someone else level. But now it would involve pugging, or having a toon at a similar level. I was hoping to just blast her through some stuff, but it’s doesn’t look possible anymore.

I experimented with party sync. I admit it was with a very low level toon (level 11). But he got no xp at all for the kills.

You’ll never get the full benefit with a Max level toon helping.

The answer is party sync with less XP.

Or a better solution of creating a new toon to run dungeons with them in chromie.

You are not going to get exactly what you want. That’s just how it was designed. I’m sorry

You don’t get to have your cake and eat it too now.

Either join together in the same chromie time and party sync and do quests together and while you’ll still be strong, you won’t be godly, or make a low level alt and do dungeons together as lowbies with others. Fun fact, thanks to the wonky way dungeon scaling works and low levels, the lower level you are, the more powerful you are. Pick Cata chromie time and queue for the vanilla dungeons and it’ll go quick (be a healer for fastest queue times and just DPS because nobody is going to need healing).

Edit - If you pick the questing route, turn on warmode for more XP. Especially with Chromie time zones, nobody is going to be there to hassle you especially as a pair. Max level toons can’t get into Chromie time levels.

Edit 2 - For that matter, you can probably even pick WoD chromie time on an alt along with her and do warmode. The horde and alliance are kept in entirely different opposite end of the map zones in that expansion and only have a smidgen of a chance at coming together in the 2nd zone if that and given you only need to do 5 levels, you should be done before getting to the 2nd zone easily. The only remote chance of being ganked is higher level chromie time alts who, for whatever reason, actually have the foresight and desire to travel allllllllllllllllllllllllll the way over the opposite faction leveling zone to hopefully find and pick fights…while being highly likely to be ganged up on and/or the opposite faction having a quick means to go back to their garrison to hide…not to mention they would even have their garrison zone ability which the ganker would not. Warmode + questing in WoD is like literally free XP…

so… run them through a dungeon of their appropriate level.

Siege of Boralus, Operation: Mechagon, King’s Rest…

or just get them to do a few quests.
50 to 60 is insanely fast.
i’ve done it on a ton of characters just from killing rares.

If you do party synch and choose the option to lower your character’s level, your friends should find that they are getting appropriate experience because you will not be seen by the game as being a high level character.

The option is offered when you create the party. To quote from the link I supplied:

With Party Sync, you can choose to have your level temporarily adjusted, making it so higher-level players can quest and experience outdoor content with lower-level friends as they level up.

Levels will be scaled down to the cap of the expansion content your lowest-level party member qualifies for.

So if you friend is level 55, you will probably go down to something slightly above that. I haven’t done a synch since DF started, so I’m not sure what the highter level ranges are now.

If your friend is 55 and you are only a few levels higher, they should then get far more decent experience. However, it will mean that you will not be able to just walk in and wipe a full dungeon, because you will be in combat at a much lower level than your real level.

You won’t see them OUTSIDE the instance but if you both go INSIDE the instance, you will see them.

I use a high level char to run a low lvl chromie time through dungeons for gear and outside we can’t see each other, inside we do. Don’t think you can LFG together though, just won’t work.

Also suggest just have them undo the chromie time and do questing in Bfa…you can help them by killing the mobs faster and they get regular xp from quest turn ins. IMO 55-60 is FAST in BfA lands.

If you got flying and a 2 person mount and can fly them around, man prob 2hrs or so for 55-60…it is really really fast. I get about 1 level and hour just mining 50-60 cause i’d rather do that then questing on alts and its relaxing after work. Sometimes I do the odd quest and boom 25% of a level comes just like that. Also opening the chests in BfA…900-3800xp before lvl 60 is insane.
