Help with UI - switching computers

I play on my desktop and on my laptop. I set up my UI in a way I like but when it’s set up correctly on one, it’s broken on the other. Is there a way to fix this without having to reload a new UI each time I switch (and on each character)?

Thank you!

I don’t think so, but that’s a great idea. Have different UI profiles for different situations.

If you’re not moving buttons around bars, you should be able to set up a custom profile on each and just load that each time you switch (assuming it doesn’t go poof like the one I set up yesterday did).

Is this just via blizzard’s new UI improvements? Or are you using any addons as well?

Edit: One other question, can you define what ‘broken’ means? Are we talking for example only specific action bars missing? Or something more complicated?

No add-ons just the default UI.

As for what’s happening - action bars are moving and sometimes on top of each other. I am pretty sure it’s due to the different resolutions. I just don’t know if it’s fixable without having to save different profiles for each machine and switch each time I play.

Resolutions could be a thing, yep. Especially between laptop and desktop.

Having both on one desk, and switching between the two for some experimenting and settings consolidation might be the way to go.

You can modify the resolution under options → graphics if that helps any.

I will try that, thank you.

The only thing I can think of, is possibly cloning the WTF folder. I think that’s the one that contains the data for addons. Just every now and then put it on a flash drive and copy it over.

Good luck.

If things are still going sideways, some screenshots from each machine might be the way to go. Someone here might be able to figure out which setting is causing you problems.

Bigcogenergy’s suggestion may play into this as well depending.

Im having this problem as well. To solve the problem i think im going to need to save an additional profile for my laptop

Update- it did fix my problem by having separate profiles for my computers
