Hey guys, just wanted to get some opinions here. What would you say is the best bg pvp class (dps) for someone who is only gonna pvp gear with ranks? I have no interest in PvE and raiding. Just wanting to PvP and mostly pug bgs, pretty casual. I guess “least” gear dependent class?
Hunter, maybe?
I’ve never played one myself admittedly, but they feel very strong. Is that because of gear or because of their toolkit? I dunno, someone else will have to tell us.
That said, most classes I can think of are INCREDIBLY PvE gear dependent in SoD. They haven’t released new runes in two phases now, so at this point the only way they’re altering and enhancing classes is through giving us OP set bonuses via tier gear.
Ret Paladin for instance, is HUGELY gear dependent and relies on either 6pc T1 or 4pc T2 to become viable in PvP.
So I guess don’t play Ret is the only advice I can 100% give you.

TYVM for the reply, Urivial! Yeah ive seen where paladins are kinda screwed without the tier gear. Ty, again, ive actually always been a hunter at heart, since i play solo most of the time. I will give that a go!

Hunter is good but you need pve gear if you want to minmax the aq tier set is gonna be insane. And atm you atleast want 2 set t2 belt and bracer. 4 set is nice as well for extra burst.
Ele sham running wote is prolly the other best class for bgs and due to how tanky it is it has a petty low skill ceiling. I think with full rank 14 and full bloodmoon off pieces it will be pretty busted

Awesome, i just hit 60 recently on this toon, and have a bit of Pvp gear. It does seem quite fun. I still get my butt kicked of course haha! Thank you all very much for responding, i really appreciate the insight! Might alt between this guy and a hunter.

Warlock is good too. Hunter is fine as well, but I’d say Loc, Rogue, War, and Druid all have a place in PvP. Druid has great snares/roots, tank mode, has stealth, can obv. heal, and in cat form / cheetah you’re a very fast flag runner.

Yeah! Was actually in a toss up between hunter and lock, but maybe hunter is a bit more approachable for a noob casual scrub haha! Idk. thank you for the input! Boomy seems nigh unstoppable as well lol! Not sure after the nerfs though. And I’m not looking so much to be OP, just entry level good lol

Great thing about these new servers is we have a full calendar year before TBC so we can level alts and not feel like we’re missing out on anything!

Sod will be over soon and then those toons will go to regular realms most likely. So just think of what class you want to be stuck with playing on regular non SoD realms in the future. I highly doubt we are getting SoD TBC…be cool but Blizzard has said nothing about it.
