Hello! I made a new druid, and it is currently level 111 (questing to 120). Basically, I was wondering what professions would work best in the long run? I want to raid and do mythic+. Thanks!
Only professions worth anything anymore are herb/alch & cooking
I would recommend Alchemy to anyone looking to do M+ for sure.
Its super valuable to be able to make your own flasks and pots, and the extra hour on flasks is going to save a ton of money over the course of the expansion.
Pairing it with Herbalism is very nice for the same reason, but it might actually be worth considering leatherworking, as you can make some extremely good gear provided you are actually doing the raid weekly.
If you don’t plan on doing that, I can’t imagine it would be worth it.
But all I know is there will be new alchemist stones in 8.1 that will require the new raid materials so alchemy, so seems like its never been a better time to choose alchemy! Those stones are always extremely strong in M+, as they almost always seem to be over budgeted procs of main stats.
Professions are kind of pointless for progression. Money wise it depends how much time you are willing to put into it. Making runes is extremely profitable right now just mill off the ah.
If you are not going to use them for making gold I wouldn’t bother myself.
I’m planning on joining a raid team, so I probably would be doing it weekly. Would you say herb or leather in this case?
If you can stomache buying all your herbs, then leatherworking for sure, but like I mentioned the new alchemy should probably be your first focus when it comes to crafting. It will take many weeks to get that one item, but might be a long time before you get any value from leatherworking.
Maybe start with Herb, then drop it later if you have extra resources laying around.
