I like vanilla, but I don’t know what i’m doing wrong. I know vanilla is built around grouping up for quests but every zone I go to I spam chat lfg for this quest or that, and I never get a reply. Even though when I /who there are tons of people in the zone. As a healer, I really need others to help me with the quests, and it’s killing me that no-one wants to group with me?

The masses are out of the starting ares, 40s 50s now I believe. What server are you on? Posting on you Classic character helps. If you’re on Bigglesworth I could help you here and there.
What realm do you play on and what level/class are you? If it’s a priest and you’re leveling as holy, make sure you grab wand spec and spirit tap. and also when out in the zone it’s worth it to kill any mob that gives experience on the way to and from any quest you see. You will get a lot of xp from that alone. and most guides recommend it. Any mob I pass by I kill as long as it gives xp.
I wouldn’t recommend leveling as heal spec.
If there’s an un-soloable elite quest you need help with, 90% of the time there will be other people in the zone looking to do it. If you’re looking to group up for random generic kill quests, you’re not gonna get much interest.
Leveling as a heal spec for a priest isn’t a bad idea. OP just needs to ensure they’re speccing correctly (wand damage, spirit tap for example) and soloing won’t be an issue.
I’ve had mixed experiences, but I’ve never looked in LFG for anything other than dungeon runs.
As a warrior, it’s not always fun to solo quest, so sometimes I’ll type something like:
“I’m just a warrior alone in the world, looking for someone to group with and grind.”
Or
“Warrior just got to zone, picking up quests, looking for party.”
And maybe someone responds, maybe not, then I go about my quests. Usually within a minute or so, someone whispers “invite!” and we start along our way…
When we run into people, they may be waiting for a mob to spawn for a quest, or killing some mobs for a quest, I’ll usually /say or /whisper something like, “Are you doing <quest name>? Want to join us?” and within 10 to 15 minutes, we usually have a full party.
Just kidding… I’m always tanking dungeons.
If you’re leveling with a PvE spec you’re hindring yourself for no reason sinse you can perferm just fine in dungeons with offspecs.
Best advice i can give is, if you’re stuck with an elite quest or the escort quests that swarm you with an endless barrage of mobs and you can’t find people to do them, just do something else, switch zones and come back later.
