Anyone else have trouble looting the Hypnotic Crystal from Mutanus the Devourer in Wailing Caverns?

I got the quest from the goblin in Stonetalon to get the Hypnotic Crystal and Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic.

The second item was easy, I bought a Greater Magic Wand from the AH and combined it with the Wild Magic Essence which dropped off the 5th or 6th Totemic I killed in Ashenvale. But now I’ve ran through WC three times and failed to get the Hypnotic Crystal from the last boss.

In each group, I was there with another hunter who managed to loot it, but it was not there for me. After the second run, where another hunter got his but I didn’t get mine, I was thinking maybe this drop is one per group. But in my last run, there were 3 hunters including me in the group and both the other hunters looted it, but again, when I looted the body, there was no Hypnotic Crystal.

Submitted a ticket but haven’t heard back from the Devs. Just wondering if I’m doing anything wrong or if any other hunters have had this happen?

Sure you don’t already have it somewhere? Bank maybe. It can drop before you get the quest so you may have done wc earlier and banked it.

Double checked bags and bank, don’t have it. I might have looted it before I got the quest and didn’t know what it was and probably deleted it. But in this case, shouldn’t I be able to loot a new one?

Also checked Blizzard’s item restoration page, couldn’t find it in my list either.

Same issue here and I’ve been going back and forth with some idiot from customer support who literally keeps telling me to check wowhead.

That’s strange, I actually kept getting it even after I’d finished the quest and got the rune so not sure what’s going on with yours.

Did you try abandoning the quest, then re taking it by chance? Dunno if that might work.

same exact thing is happening for me after I was in a group and another hunter got the wild magic essence. three levels of grinding on these mobs and it has yet to drop
