So I’ve played fury till 60 something, and have loved it a lot thus far. I ended up using my 120 boost from SL on my dwarf warrior, who is my first wow character when I came back in legion!
I gotta say though, levelling as fury is straight forward rotation wise. But max level there’s a TON of things going on in terms of procs and such.
I’ve read up some rotations which helps a bit, but I feel like I’m…missing something. I can do some insane burst damage and such and decent aoe, but I still feel like I’m not playing the spec properly.
Any tips for a new 120 fury warrior? I’m looking to do some dungeons/mythic dungeons soon, then maybe do some transmog hunting in old raids/dungeons. Any advice would be appreciated!
If this is what you want out of your warrior i think you will be happy. They have good ST damage and AE. Decent self healing as well.
Not as easy to play as a DH but still fun.
Their rotation is very strait forward with the only thing that really gives change is raging blow procs.
Tbh I have a DH. I find while they are fun, they are extremely dependent on cooldowns. You have a period where you can do insane damage, and then you are starved in between with a lack lustre 3 or 4 key rotation until your GCD pop back up, with zero procs. So I find fury much more engaging rotation wise, while DH is great for going against literally 10+ mobs and nuking them all.
But Thanks for the reassurance!
only proc i can think of that needs managing is execute tho?
Well there’s execute, raging blow and sometimes rampage pops up! And I find there’s a lot of synergy between abilities, Like whirlwind to cleave debuff/attacks onto 4 mobs at once and such! Bit more to keep track of, compared to DH. Which was stated above!
It’s pretty whack a mole except you need to hit whirlwind every 3rd global to keep aoe up. Otherwise pretty much keep everything on cooldown. You will hit periods, albeit very brief, where it feels like you slow down a bit, but then you hit another enrage and you’re back in business.
Yeah I find the spec much more engaging. I find myself focusing on what’s going on with my ability bars much more.
Also is there a mod or ability to have cooldown abilities be anywhere except your bottom or side bars?? It would be great to see them closer to mobs instead of having to keep looking down!
From what I’m hearing it sounds like your biggest issues are practice and UI. Obviously, getting plenty of reps in killing mobs and doing dungeons well help the priority system to become second nature. But a good UI can go a long way to helping you track your CDs, procs, rage, WW buff etc.
Personally, I use a heavily customized version of Luxthos weak aura package. You may want to give it a try.

Personally i use elvui as well as weakauras. One or both should allow you to customize bars and cd positions to be more centered on your character.
I second what Aedan said about Luxthos weakauras. I use them out of the box but fantastic auras for sure.

i see. pretty much anything not dh will require more managing. once u get used to it tho, it becomes super easy, imo, fury spec is one of the easier half of the specs out there
As mentioned above practice seems to be the way to go, maybe read some guides and have one open while beating on a training dummy to reference if needed. Running dungeons is good practice, but I feel is the second step after spending some time on a training dummy. I use ElvUI and WeakAuras as well to track enrage and rage.
This script was so much better than my previous one. Thank you for the suggestion.
