Help with everything

So I’m about a week into the game, lvl 70 warrior. I was under the assumption after level 70 I would be granted world quests. Did not happen. I also have ZERO idea how to upgrade item level. Or what that even means really. (The game could not be less intuitive) I also finished Dragonflight (I assume) because there are no pending quests like there usually was, however upon making a new character I find out it is not complete. I don’t know how to even find this information out as the UI is so dated and unintelligible

For a week into the game, you’re doing very well!

But be aware that WoW is a BIG game. You gather more understanding over time, and you will be learning for the first year or two.

Your specific query nowis World Quests. To get World Quests, you need two things:

  1. Be Level 70
  2. Complet the quest campaign through the four zones

I can’t see your account in detail, but from this page

I can see that you have not completed the quest campaign. You have finished the first three zones, but you do not have the achievement Just Don’t Ask Me to Spell It, whichyou get when you finish the main sequence quests in Thaldraszus.

So you have missed some main quests (the ones with the brown shield around the exclamation mark) in Thaldraszus.

According to this:

you have completed 36 of 227 quests in Thaldraszus. That doesn’t separate aout the required quests (with thebrown shields) from the side quests, but it suggests that you have a few moreto complete.

If you type Y in the game - not into the chat bar, but as if casting a spell with the letter Y - you will see your Achievements. If you search that for
Spell It
you will see the three storylines you need to complete.

If you say which of those is incomplete, I can tell you where to go to pick up the quests you are missing.

As for item level, it is simple.

Every item of armor and jewellery and weapons has stats that make you stronger - for a Warrior, Strength is the main one. To summarise the level of stats an item has, the item is given an Item Level. If you open your Character screen and hover over each of your items, you will see it,as you can see it here:

So for example, your Helm has an Item Level of 175.

Your overall item level is just the average of the item levels of the things you are wearing,

In general, Jewellery and Trinkets may not have Strength, butthey will have other stats. All of your Armor and your Two-Handed weapon, as an Arms Warrior, will have Strength as well as two other stats.

Getting into comparing stats between two items is very complicated, but as a first rule of thumb, when you get a new items that is suitable for your class and spec, you should choose the one with the higher Item Level. *That isnot always true, but it’s a good enough rule for now.)

You get to a higher ILevel by earning more high ilevel pieces, which, for the moment, you will do through questing and world quests, once you unlock them.

Meannwhile, you might get some understanding from some of the many World of Warcraft Beginners’ Guides available on YouTube. I like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9D1V6oKzac
It doesn’t cover some recent things like Chromie Time and Sjyriding, but it is nearly divided into very short chapters that cover evetything a beginner needs to know.

Hello, I’m a returning player. Last expansion was WoLk. I’m seeing all these new druid forms and I did some research and a lot of it comes from the Emerald dream. I’ve tried to go into the portal in dragonflight zone but it isn’t working for me. Is there a quest line for it to be active? if so how and where to find it?

The quest you want is Call of the Dream

That gets you in immediately.

And, from what I recall, in 10.2 Blizzard made that not depend on having done any earlier content if you were level 70, so AFAIK you should be able to just pick it up at the foot of the stairs of the main building in Valdrakken.

Go have a look for it. BE SURE to tick “Low-Level Quests” ON in your tracking options, found on the left of the thin bar above your minimap, since the game will probably consier it low level for an 80.Ifthat doesn’t work, post again and we’ll see how to track it down.

okay thank you, i’ll give it a shot.
