Howdy all, I just came back a couple weeks ago and decide to roll as enhance. Can someone simplify the rotation for me? Currently running the Mythic+ Elemental build. I used the calculator from Icey but still seems odd to me. First time I ever used WA and Hekilli as well to optimize the use of my rotation.
It just feels bad, is it suppose to feel bad? I have seen AoE numbers get as high as 80k but it is not common, my single target which I understand I am for AoE feels bad. I average around 40k a dungeon but on some fights raid or Mythic+ I can see me barely beating or below the tank. Anyone have an accurate fluent rotation they can help me with?
Simple opener for Aoe:
- Flame shock target A
- Feral spirits
- Primordial wave target B
- Lava Lash
- Lightning bolt
- Ice Strike
- Frost shock
- Sundering
- Crash lightning
Spend maelstrom stacks at 6+. 3+ targets use CL, 1-2 targets lava burst/lightning bolt depending on what buffs you have from the doggos. Pop dogs on cooldown and use Pwave AFTER for cd reduction. Try not to overcap your ms stacks, it becomes more of an issue at high ilvl. I recognize that my “simple” opener is 9 buttons and not very simple.

In addition to what is posted above, in AOE, if you are running the talent lashing flames (think it’s that, on my.phone atm - the talent where lava lash increase flame shock dmg by 100%) then , then you can also swap targets when you lava lash to ensure all targets get the debuff on them. This is less viable in m+ where things die really fast but good for things like vault council, or any situation where the adds will be alive longer than usual.
I think lashing flames is cumbersome to use in most m+ aoe situations excluding hot hands procs. I find myself falling behind on priority interrupts and relying on sundering/thunderstorm. I do believe it’s extremely valuable in funnel priority and boss fights.

Why do we apply flame shock to target A and then primodial target B, is there any other benefit or is to just spread to the whole pack? Can we just go off from the target B and spread the fire from there if the pack isnt that big?
Also whats the point of lightning bolt in aoe instead of chain lightning?
Im learning as well and I will really appreciate any feedback. Those questions are really bugging me, Thank You!
PWave buffs lightning bolt and the extra flame shock makes LB hit multiple targets, granting extra haste if you go the end point talents.
Use CL outside of PWave.

There is an addon Hekili that will suggest roation. You can use it to help learn just as long as you arent dependent on it you will do good.
Lava Lash only spreads Flame Shock’s DoT to up to 4 targets, while the maximum we can have it active on at a time is 6. By Flame Shocking one target first, then Primordial Waving another, you can get the DoT rolling on more targets.
Primordial Wave causes your next Lightning Bolt to fire again on every target affected by your Flame Shock DoT at increased power, which is a decent bit of AoE burst. But more importantly, if you’re running Splintered Elements (which you should be, if you’re running Primordial Wave), you’ll also gain 10% Haste per target hit by extra Lightning Bolts, for a maximum of 60% Haste if you had the maximum 6 Flame Shock DoTs active.
So you will cast Lightning Bolt once after casting Primordial Wave. Otherwise, Chain Lightning replaces Lightning Bolt in AoE.

There is not really a rotation per say. Just a priority list of moves to hit when they come off CD or proc.
Thank you everyone for your advice, I just seem to not be consistent yet. I know it will take some more practice but it just feels weird at times.
