Hey guys:
I need some help with this Corsair Ironclaw mouse I just got before I hurl it out a window. This is my first Corsair mouse. Been using Logitech mice for the last 20+ years, but I wanted something with more programmable buttons for WoW.
So, right out of the box, three of the side buttons on the mouse are just registering as 1, 2 and 3 in game. Pressing them is the same as pressing 1, 2 or 3 on the keyboard. Trying to bind stuff to them unbinds 1, 2, or 3.
The one ability I had tied to the one working mouse button on my old mouse only works… sometimes. I’m in game, not changing anything at all, and about half the time, these mouse buttons are duplicating 1, 2 and 3, (and my one mouse button mapped ability won’t work…) and the other half of the time, my one mouse mapped ability DOES work, and the side buttons don’t duplicate 1, 2 or 3. It’s switching back and forth on its own.
Tried fiddling with ICUE software, but this stuff is not even remotely intuitive.
Basically, I just want to be able to program abilities in game to these 7 programmable mouse buttons, and not have four of them tied to adjusting DPI/profile settings, and the remaining three duplicating 1, 2, and 3. Seriously, if I press those mouse buttons right now, they’re type 1, 2, and 3 even out of game.
I have a Corsair Scimitar Pro, 12 side buttons. I agree the ICUE is something to muddle through. I kept having similar issues. Mine were tied to the top buttons just behind the mouse wheel. As those change the settings. So heavy handed i would hit one, it would change to a different mouse internal setting and in game would bring me out to Task Handler. I programmed all internal options to what i wanted in game. And set ingame kebinds. Voila, just solved mine… Not sure if the same for you. So mine came from ICUE setting and, well, I.
No, I think I’ve solved my issue. (Mine was basically the two side buttons that I’d bind in game to actions would just keep swapping from those actions to being tied to the 1 and 2 number keys, randomly, and constantly. Only turning the mouse off and back on would fix it. For a few minutes.)
Had to dig up a three month old version of firmware for the dongle. That seems to have fixed it.
Super pissed off that reputable companies can put out products that don’t work out of the box or after installing the latest versions of their software. Consumers shouldn’t have to be infuriated at your product for over a week, dig around on the internet, then install old versions of your software from three months ago.
And yeah, ICUE is obscene. I simply cannot figure it out. It couldn’t have been something simple like “Here’s what your mouse buttons do. What do you want to reprogram them to do?” Like every damn gamepad or mouse with custom buttons I’ve ever used on PC.
Ahh well. I’ll keep suffering through it, because damn if it isn’t one of the prettiest and most comfortable mice I’ve used.

I almost bought one, probably should have, but now you might have me rethinking it. I like the Scimitar but it doesn’t have the flare out by the thumb, it has it on the other side for the ring finger. My thumb constantly slides off, not a great gaming mouse for someone with larger hands, which i thought the Ironclaw would be. I thought my next mouse would be Corsair M65 RGB ELITE, everything I need, + reasonable cost. I am not spending $100 on a mouse. Most i ever spent was on a Razer Naga long ago before they switched the button layout. (Two little buttons on the left side top, just off main pad) I am a mouser, so those to were programmed to nearest enemy target, and friendly focus target, ah my shaman healing years. Don’t like it anymore.
I have a pretty decent grasp of the ICUE now, but had a Hell of a time with it at set up. I wholeheartedly agree that if you are going to be company that is in the business of supplying gamer-s with equipment. It needs to work like it should, and we shouldn’t need an IT department in order to play a game. Glad to hear you got it working fingers crossed it stays for you.
