I have watched a bunch of videos and they all talk so fast and assume you know the class well… I dont understand eclipses, moon, sun, when they are good, how to get them, which ones to get… then solar power and other crap I have to monitor.
I have found a WeakAura that tracks all I need, but I need someone to explain to me, in idiotspeak, like the rotation and what does what and why. There HAS to be this out there somewhere… or maybe I am just “slow” but I just seem to be getting super confused on how to make the most of my Balance Druid.
Thanks in advance.

They even have an “Easy Mode” feature that is good for those who are new to the spec, and presumably once they get more comfortable with the spec they can look at the other guides they have on the site.
Isn’t it just.
2x wrath
sunfire
moonfire (if target will live through the eclipse cycle)
spam starfire till you enter solar eclipse then repeat ?
all while dumping astral power near cap on surge or starfall depending on # of targets ?
while balancing the CD’s of Celestial alignment and convoke (forgot to add that one)
watch nuguura on youtube.
she has a balance druid and explains balance druid rotation very clearly.
eclipse’s alternate. so you can’t use one of them consistently.
single target pull
2xsolar wrath+ 2 x starsurge
sunfire moonfire dots. stellar flare dot
then starfire until you finish your eclipse. then use 2 more starfires to activate eclipse again.
dump all astral power very fast when you enter into eclipse to use best of boat legendary.
after that check your dots renew them when you are in eclipse and outside of boat.
start wrath and at the end of eclipse cast 2 more wraths and enter into lunar eclipse again. dump all astral with starsurge.
rest is rinse repeat.
important thing here is you have to enter eclipse as much as possible to proc solstice.
So don’t use dots outside of eclipse, apply dots inside eclipse.
When your eclipse is finished , cast 2x (wrath or starfire to enter into next eclipse)
always use convoke with celestial.

at boss pulls 2xwrath + 2 starsurges (with boat legendary)
rest is same as you explain. but op is missing how to reactivate eclipses i guess.
Thanks all ,will check those out. @Gedumelas - What about soloing/WQ’s and basic trash stuff in Heroics? Same thing? I don’t see many “bosses” so to speak… Just a lot of solo content, Torghast and some Heroics.
On pull I thought it was.
2x wrath (enter solar) dot, surge, celestial alignment, convoke, dump surge and then continue with rotation, at least… thats how i’ve been doing it, but i haven’t done a whole lot of research with it, just seems to work, maybe I should do that…
edit: just realized im posting on my warrior…
cough i mean, zug zug… big axe, smash
Why aren’t the dots, Moonfire and Sunfire, applied first? It seems like a waste of 2 GCDs to apply the dots after entering an eclipse state. I mean, isn’t the whole point of eclipse to cast the appropriate empowered spell? (and to dump astral power with Starsurge as needed).
I always see guides say to cast Moonfire and Sunfire after entering eclipse. There goes 2 GCDs off that 15 seconds…
solo content with nature’s balance talent : pull starts with 2x solar wrath 2x starsurge. same with bosses.
for torgast controlling your pulls is more important than dps:
using roots (or mighty bash for stun), typhoon, vortex (with resto affinity), treants.
i use force of nature as a safety switch
so you cant do that opener. use stellar drift talent also for torgast . it will increase your dps. use more starfalls than starsurges. generally spamming starfire until i get astral power for starfall. but always keep in mind for eclipses.
I liked the weak aura : simple eclipse tracker
it shows you what to cast to enter eclipse.
Yeah, that’s the problem sometimes even with really good WoW players.
I’ll sometimes offer really basic advice to get someone to 80-90% of where they should be, and the really good players will bring up the rare exceptions and start confusing the basics with tips and tricks they’ve learned from years of experience but which will go right over the heads of the newbies and make things worse.

if you have boat when you enter eclipse your crit chance is increased %40 at first second, %32 at second second. decreasing %8 per second to zero.
so if you cast starsurges right after you enter eclipse you have total %55 chance to hit critical starsurge . but if you wait for dotting (2- or with stellar flare 3 ) you lose your extra critical chance .
if it works i get 15k starsurge damage gain, by losing 1 k dot damage. also please tell me if i am thinking wrong
what i do
2xsolar + 2 x starsurge
dots
celestial (i enter another eclipse without finishing first one ) + convoke, so convoke has eclipse too.
after that regular rotation.
Ah k, yeah I’ll start trying to do it that way then, makes a bit more sense. I am used to running things without BOAT so. to my understanding it didnt really matter when the dots were applied vs when surge was used as there was no timed buff. but makes sense (i just crafted it the other day)
You are not wrong, also with boat %40 increased crit chance reducing %8 each second, starsurge seems doing more damage overall.
Press celestial alignment, press convoke, do thing until next convoke.

without boat who cares starsurge. go with dots.
It’s even more fun in Torghast.
Shift out to caster, get Barkskin for free. Shift back to Moonkin, also casted Starfall for free. Repeat.
