Help with Azerite traits

I’m confused on the azerite traits I should pick. Do any of our traits stack?

Helm
Bone-fetished faceguard
Eternal rune weapon
bloody rune blade
Heed my call
Impassive visage

Shoulders
Trench tyrants shoulder pads
Bloody runeblade
Bones of the damned
Overwhelming power
Cold hearted

Chest
Zanjir scaleguard chestplate
Bloody runeblade
Bones of the damned
Overwhelming power
Bulwark of the masses

Anything I should change?
Thank you guys I tried to research it but icyveins was a bit confusing to me

Before reading below, and for anyone who wants to correct my advice as a more experienced Death Knight, please note while this is not my first tank, I am new to Death Knights and still learning. I mainly tank 10+ keys, BG, and raid up to heroic (not so much heroic on this toon). Raiding and dungeons do have some different choices in Azerite traits, Essences, and 1 talent choice, but for the most part the traits don’t differ since like you’ll see mentioned below- they are all terrible…

Unfortunately, Death Knights have the worst Azerite traits, to the point where general traits are better than class traits. Their choice of Azerite pieces is mostly based on the minor traits such as Overwhelming Power.

There are some class traits which are ok, but you don’t want to get more than one.

Looking at your options, I would go with the following:
Take both Overwhelming Power traits (crucial trait), and Impassive Visage (also another solid trait).
Take Eternal Rune on your helm (this shines for raiding more than dungeons), as having 1 of that trait is always good.
For shoulders & chest, take 1 Bones of The damned, and 1 Bloody Runeblade. These two are also fine to have 1 of each. Bloody Runeblade does stack, but you don’t really need more than 1 unless you have no choice.

You could read up on the Azerite guides for Death Knights written on WoWHead and IcyVeins. The guide on WoWHead does a terrible job of ranking the traits, and pretty much keeps telling you to avoid all of them, but still has a good summary of each trait so you can read and decide on your own. I like the IcyVeins trait guide for Death Knights a bit more.

Things to keep in mind:

Marrowblood is your WORST trait.
Ring 2 and 3 traits are how you choose which Azerite piece is better (if you need to decide between 2 or more pieces of gear). The WoWHead Blood Death Knight guide’s Azerite trait section has a great breakdown of these and all Death Knight traits, and you can see a star next to the traits that are the best choices available.
Overwhelming Power, Impassive Visage, and Resounding Protection (the shield trait that’s basically Prydaz legendary from Legion) are you best choices in traits. Basically, Death Knight trait choices are based off of the best defensive traits you can take, not offensive.

I looked at your character profile. Be sure to enchant your rings with Versatility, and put the Rune of The Fallen Crusader rune on your weapon.

When choices item upgrades, the top choices are iLevel first followed by Versatility. Haste after that, and mastery is your worst trait.
I see you’ve taken Cold Hearted trait. That is a terrible trait.

You have the correct talent choice. The last tier talent, Red Thirst is for raiding, and Bonestorm for dungeons.
For your level 75 talents, you just alternate them based on what you need for the content you’re about to do.

I hope all of this helps you my friend. I am a Demon Hunter tank main, who also played Druid & Warrior tanks, but recently fell in love with Death Knight tanking as the only tank that comes close to fun as my Demon Hunter (though they are worlds apart so it’s been quite the adjustment).

blood uses FC now?

In response to poster above ^

From what guides and some Death Knights I talked to in-game stated, it seems to be the to-go rune and weapon enchant for all three specs (off-hand for Frost Death Knights).

I believe for Blood Death Knights, it is very strong defensively, and the heal from the proc will account for a significant amount of self-healing over an encounter, and the 15% Strength translates into both armor and parry chance.
Apparently it is better than the 8.2 weapon enchants.

If any Death Knights have a different experience, I’m all ears, as I’m looking to learn more and master the spec by 8.3

Yep. The proc also heals for 3% of total health each proc. It can proc back to back. And the 15% strength is too good to pass. Boost damage on all abilities.

Spellbook says 6% heal, but the rest is correct. It seems to proc pretty frequently, too.

A lot of Blood DKs better than me recommended it in Legion and WoD on the forums and various guides.
